At the risk of being called a bullshitter and thinking I’m ITK, Charlie Wyke’s wages were agreed with Wigan but he chose not to come as we don’t create chances. Further to that, Elliott Watt, Aaron Hayden and Jake Forster-Caskey are all lined up for the summer. Apparently. Also heard the Hayden and Watt rumours. I doubt they're true.

Hayden already agreed and Watt has a gentleman’s agreement is what I’ve been told.

Well at the weekend i was told that there are a number of players at Salford who want out so maybe be worth having a look there. thought you wanted established Championship players? Won't find them at Salford

The line the club are pushing are that they had a further 3-6 players lined up in January. These lads basically had 1 foot in the door, then pulled out at the 11th hour. Anyone got on info? Sounds true? God forbid names? Seems strange if they all had a foot in the door that they all did an about turn ?? Seems an odd one given the number, surely if the deal on the table was really good they would sign, Obviousy we were a relegation risk but says very little about those involved if this is true!

Watt would be decent as he’s a baller & good set piece. Hayden too injury prone in recent seasons. Foster-Caskey I know nothing about.
Looking at Salford, I’d consider
Alex Cairns-GK & captain. 200 games at L1 Curtis Tilt-CB, 140 games at championship & L1 for Wigan & Blackpool
With Stockport going up might be a chance to get Croasdale, camps, collar, horsfall, Wooten

Wouldn’t surprise me if we’d positive discussions with players in Dec & with each sh1tty result in Dec & early January they saw the prospect of relegation increase & backed away.

From your comments about the defenders, it sounds very much like you'd be happy to go with the back 4 or 5 which has served us so abysmally this season. Personally I feel nearly every one of them needs replaced. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking because the likes of Armer and Lavelle have been okay in League Two before that they’ll be okay in League Two again. Both have been really poor this season and could well carry that form into next season, players can regress as well as improve. The comment about being impressed by Ellis is baffling aswell, he’s been atrocious this season. Agree re the defence. We’ve got a keeper who super glues himself to his line at kickoff. None of the centre backs are anywhere near good enough and the fullbacks aren’t wing backs which Simpson seems to want to persist with. For me it’s a whole new defence. Simpsons problem to get rid of dummies he’s given contracts to . Just because they are passable perhaps in league 2 doesn’t mean we have to keep them . Harsh but fair All the loanees have been appalling and there’s no way I’d be giving Emmanuel a deal either. A few tricks and cameos from Butterworth wouldn’t endear me to be offering him a new deal too. Time for Simpson to take it on the chin , accept his signings in the main have been dire and start again. Anyone out if contract doesn’t deserve new one. Happy to chip in for a train ticket for McGuire now. Out of that lot, keep 11, undecided on 3 or 4, the rest can join the already departing No room for sentiment, not performing, looking like performing or more interested in peeve and skirt than jog on!! Would say we need 14 players( that will include any 2nd years coming full time pros)

I see Simpson slipped in that maguire has been carrying a calf injury since before he signed for us. There are enough teams with financial issues, Wigan, Fleetwood, Accrington (maybe). Mccann at forest green is highly thought of, ex rangers. Raith and airdrie are over performing. Who is on loan in the conference and playing at above standard? Portsmouth, Bolton, derby must be looking to offload

It never has been and never will be a football term - it’s American and refers to someone who’s good at basketball. Do you also use the terms ‘footy’ and ‘top bins’ by any chance?

Salford looked decent and were very effective last year and a lot of those players are now the ones wanting away
