Probably seen a few of us getting excited at Branthwaite's rising profile (and value). The lad's just signed a long term contract, not a chance he's going anywhere this season. I would say there's still a chance he might move. Giving him a new contract is probably Evertons insurance in that they may get more for him bearing in mind the length of contract.

Can see him moving on in the summer, but I'd be surprised to see him go in January. Not sure which scenario would work best for us tbh - the lad will command a massive fee if he continues to impress all season, but extra funding in January could be crucial if this takeover falters for any reason (not saying it will, but nothing is certain - until it is).

Depending on the outcome of the FFP investigation, due soon, he may go in January in order to balance the books in accordance with the results from the investigation, or in order to pay a substantial fine. Regarding the 777 takeover nothing apart from Moshiri's statement sounds like good news for the Toffees. If the club is taken over Branthwaite will definitely be sold as the 777 group will be buying the club with debt.

Ancelotti can hopefully spend about £75m to gift him as a leaving present to Real Madrid.
Can just see Jarrad playing it out of defence to Bellingham, Camavinga and Tchouameni to get moving up the pitch… 😀

I'm hoping Chelsea get interested so they can spend the usual £190 Million and then play him five times a season.

Branthwaite singled out for praise on Match of the Day, similar to Jimmy Hill waxing lyrical about Malcolm Poskett after we beat Man City 3-1 in 1985. There was a little scoffing about Branthwaite on the old forum, can’t remember who the scoffers were. Someone posted that Branthwaite had been dropped from Everton’s under 23 squad so had no chance of making it. Turned out he’d been called up for first team squad.

I remember the first time I seen him, he was warming up before a pre-season game with a big smile on his face and my lad asked who he was and I had no idea and I said that he must be be a new signing or trialist perhaps.
The thing that struck me was that he was built like a tank and was huge, there was no way that I was have said that he was sixteen or thereabouts.
I rated him on that BBC results website page and it put him above Pickford as Everton's best player the other week, he must have been overjoyed at this after being tonked 3-0 by Liverpool - to be fair, he handled Salah rather well.

High praise in today's press. Branthwaite decisive at both ends
Jarrad Branthwaite was magnificent during Everton’s 1-0 win over West Ham. The young centre-back’s first notable involvement was to stop Michail Antonio charging on to a pass down the right and he grew in stature as the game progressed. It was Branthwaite who started the move that led to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s winner. He left Antonio on the floor with a strong challenge and quickly moved the ball forward for Calvert-Lewin to link with Jack Harrison. Then, when West Ham tried to force an equaliser, Branthwaite stood firm next to the experienced James Tarkowski. The 21-year-old won his headers, made important blocks, read danger and ensured that Jordan Pickford did not have to make a save until added time in the second half. It was no surprise Sean Dyche singled out the defender for praise afterwards. Branthwaite appears to have benefited from a year on loan at PSV Eindhoven. Looking at the highlights he's certainly looking comfortable in the premier league the way he's bossing the opposition, and his pass delivery is excellent.

Could he become our best ever academy Graduate, as he's looks like he'll end up going to be an main stay (or should but we know Southgate will continue with Maguire).
