(Hopefully so harmless some won't want to comment)
Well I'm pleased I have been able to get both my boys in as Mascots for the Boston game. £150 is good value for the experience they get to have. Food, meet and great club staff, some time with the manager, and players. They get tours around the ground and fussed over by staff.
Play on the pitch whilst the warm ups are happening then get to walk out with a player of their choice.
My oldest did it on the Pompy game a couple of years ago, and walked out with Harry Lewis, the boy loved it and Harry was brilliant with him.
Sick of doom and gloom, so if your family have had positive experiences tells us about them, please.

My boy did it a couple of years ago and I tagged along with him. It was a brilliant experience. Think I enjoyed it more than he did.

I do think the mascot experience is really good, children and parents really enjoy it.
I still feel very strongly that the mascot experience is not something that the club should be making money out of, it's a huge pity that some families just can't afford to do this despite the kids being season ticket holders and coming to all the home games.

Yeah, agree all should be able to experience it however sometimes in life you can't. I get lower league clubs charging, its when you see massive clubs charging an absolute fortune for it that it sickens you. I do think they do a good job at having more accessible options for kids, like Olgas army's parties, and the community stuff through the cumberland building society.

Its something I would really like CUST to take up. Each child who is a season ticket holder should get the chance to be mascot once. If parents want their child to do it more than once then fair enough the parents pay for it, but if the club insist on charging money then I would like CUST to raise the money then every kid gets the chance. I know my grandchildren did it (before mascots had to pay) and really enjoyed it despite it being one of the coldest days of the year.

I think if it was just running onto the pitch charging that much seems a lot, but it sounds like there's a lot more to it than that, and people's time.
Plus based on an average working week, each kid pays for Embleton for just over an hour. Just need 33 mascots a week and he's paid for.

🤣🤣 nearly but not quite enough to cover his wages.
I'm holding out home for Embo, he has the ability to be an absolute magician hopefully the realisation of his current predicament is the kick up the backside he needed. I was one of the haters after his lack of contribution to anything, but id happily eat my words and apologise to the lad.
It is pricey but they do get a good experience. They really did fuss over my oldest a couple of year ago, getting 10 minutes with Simmo, to talk to the kids about football was great and credit to the players on the day, they were very welcoming to the kids in the dressing room before they went out for warm ups.

Yes hopefully it's a fresh start, good attitude and do well. Perhaps remembering most people would love to be in his position. Plenty pay to play every week (um... even if they're too old at 48), and I'd hope the joy of playing could come back.
I'll whinge until I'm proved wrong and then be delighted to be wrong, yes!
Sounds great for the nippers. I'd hold hands and walk out with Edmo if I could get out onto the pitch myself!

I was a mascot when we won the title under Wandsworth and it got me hooked even more, I bet they wish they never bothered 😂, but it was free and got to do drills with Deano and Rod Thomas and it was great.
It doesn’t sit right with me that it’s now chargeable, I get it and times changed but I’m sure my family would have struggled to pay in those days for it.

Never got the chance to do it as a kid, relived the excitement through my own though 🤣🤣.
Was in the lounge last season when Deano was in, absolute legend and a gentleman, definitely be going back into the lounge this year. May even cough up and scrub up for the 1904 lounge, £140 is steep but your only 40 once I guess lol.
Really hope the club continue to have access for the kids like they do, some clubs would charge a fortune for it. Even the chance to go down and be able to watch some training is really good, the oldest loves being a ball boy, Dave T, and Glen Johnson were really good with the kids that would be on call to get the balls back.

Charging £75 seems very mean indeed. What difference does that make to Carlisle United. That wouldn't even buy Sparky's lunch at the Halston!

I watched the Liverpool 1989 game with my youngest lad the other week, the mascot was on the pitch for ages taking shots at McKellar. Now that must be some memory to have That miss by Liverpool at 0-0 I think it was Aldridge, was terrible.

My daughter was mascot twice - Crewe at home and Wycombe away. I can't praise the club and the whole experience highly enough. From Amy and Andy through to Andrew Jenkins - all were so kind and friendly and made us feel so welcome. Colin Carter, JP and Lummy were all so friendly and really entered into the spirit of the day too with the little pre-match radio stuff. Special mention for John Sheridan for being astonishingly grumpy and for Danny Grainger who made such a fuss of her on both occasions. What a top bloke he is. The away one too was great and Gareth Ainsworth spent a good 10 mins chatting with us which he needn't have done. And as others said I enjoyed it probably more than my daughter! Being in the ground, dressing room, around the players etc before the game was just such a thrill. And agree also that it should be free as it was when my daughter did it. We didn't have the latest kit at the time and had to buy a new one for it including socks and shorts but was happy to do that for the chance for her to be a mascot. £75 is a lot of money and I'm not sure it costs the club a lot if anything for the day. I'm not sure I'd fork out £75 for it now if I'm honest. It really was an unforgettable day and it would be a shame if any young fans missed out because of the cost. Families give a lot to the club as it is and I understand that is done willingly but it just doesn't quite sit right with me to charge for it.

I remember you posted on here pal that Shamal George gave your daughter his gloves after trouncing Crewe 0-5 at Gresty Road which was a nice touch and must have made the day more special

You are absolutely right - what a great memory you have, Munchy! He was a lovely bloke and it was sad to see him struggle at the club. Also I should say that Nicky Adams was possibly the nicest and friendliest footballer I've ever met! Jabo too was unbelievably nice.
