I like Senior, I think he's got a lot to offer our team. He has come from non-league and still has things to learn but I am convinced he will do well. He has a good touch and receives and passes well. Huntington was watching and guiding him all match and Gibson was keeping an eye out and was prepared to drop back. We have had right-backs with the urge to charge forward before (Richard Keogh springs to mind and most rated him). Carlisle doesn't play using a grid system but we do play as a team. for the first season in a long while players are looking after each other and it's great to see.
Give the lad time to settle and grow, he will do well.

Senior had an absolute shocker defensively today, I'd defy anyone of sound mind and with an ounce of understanding defensively to watch the game back and suggest anything different. He looks decent on the ball, overlapping and in the opposition's half - but in defence absolutely no. Some of his attacking movement is excellent and he can pass the ball relatively well. I'm left with the impression that a good percentage of our fans only see the attacking side of the game and don't understand or appreciate how we play without the ball and in defence. If you think Senior had a "solid" game today then this is you - you don't fully understand football and defending, you have a stunted appreciation of the game. Other than two first half attacks, everything Newport did came from their left. The only possible criticism of Senior was that he lost his man at the back stick when they hit the post late on... I look forward to Senior continuing to prove you wrong as the season progresses!
