Didn’t Armer sign as a left sided centre half and got converted to left back? Maybe it’s not his natural position as he’s far too stiff to control a ball properly. He’s too stiff to be a ball boy

Nah he was a LB, who could well move into the centre in time IMO. He put some excellent crosses over in the first half which were begging to be connected with too…

Big lad with no oomph in him. Will drift to non league and lower

I like ja. If we could just play him as a left back instead of arsing about with wing backs. He'll be a good 4th division left back I think.

His alertness, or lack of it, for the third goal yesterday is exactly what I’ve been criticising him for all season. He’s so slow on the uptake and doesn’t act until it’s too late, yesterday it was only a second but it was enough time for McCleary to get in front of him and score.

A terrible case of ball watching for that third goal.

A terrible case of ball watching for that third goal. Honestly mate, he’s been doing it all season. Think it was the Cambridge game where it was most obvious, they were targeting him with long diagonals and instead of reacting as the player was shaping up for the pass, he was waiting until the ball was mid-flight before realising it was going to end up over his head and by that time it was too late. Couple of weeks later, Reading were doing exactly the same and Armer was reacting in exactly the same way. Teams watch Carlisle and our weaknesses are that easy to spot and exploit. The man peeling off around the back at corners has been done by half a dozen teams against us this year alone.

Starting to get a wee bit over confident there Frank. 3 of the goals came from the right side and the only only that came from the left was conceded because Lewis dropped an easy catch.
Do you have any stats to support your wild claims?

Do you have any stats to support your wild claims? Unless there’s a ‘balls over the full-backs head whilst he watches gormlessly’ stat out there then I highly doubt I’ll be able to support such an observation. The fact 3 goals came down our right just shows that both our full-backs are a weak area, although we already knew that without the need for stats!

Armer also should have done a lot better before the second goal, had an opportunity to clear but booted it straight at there player. He's really personified our season for me after a promising season last. I really hope we sign an experienced LB for next season but also hope Jack can come back fitter and stronger next to challenge for a place in the team.
