If you remember back to the summer we signed him Hunts was hanging on for a better offer in L1 but none came so ended up signing for us in L2. A bit ironic that now we are in L1 he's struggled with the pace of the game and looks to be L2 at best.

Yup, Hunts has been bang on it whenever he's played this season Out of interest, what games do you think he stood out as particularly bad in? He hasn't looked good in any of them, this is why we looked better when we went to a flat back 4 until the Reading game and then everything went totaly to shit. He was starting to sit so far back off the strikers because he would have been done in a foot race that they were getting the ball with ease anyway. He has been a good player but his time has come, it happens to lots of people.

Thanks, was looking for number of games played lol It would be a better graph if it was for Guy. The fact Hunts has missed all those games without Guy and Back will certainly have helped his percentage as we were awful since Guy got injured.

He’s completely finished which is a shame, Clint Hill would outpace him now still.

Looking at the goal at Orient from the corner it was an absolute shambles no players picking up no players on the posts it looked like a school teaam playing, now Huntington is clearly past his best but he is the kind of experienced head who you need in there to sharpen everyone up and take charge and get them organised, looking at that goal no one is taking responsibility, and that's what we're missing and maybe Huntington can provoide that, if Simmo doesn't want to play him he should have made an experienced centre half a priority for the January window either on loan or signed ... in the event we got an untried 19 year old who may or may not come good but in this situation with other teams disappearing into the distance we needed an on feel general signed pronto... and we didn't get one..

For me he's still our best centre back. Lavelle doesn't stand out as particularly quick and I think we lose/lack the leadership Huntington brings to the team when he's not involved. He's the club captain and can't get a place on the bench over a 19 year old loanee, who Simmo doesn't seem to think is good enough to get in the starting lineup either. Lummy was adamant on the social he wouldn't be left out purely based on the contract issue, so if that's true (and the rumblings of a fall out aren't true) then I guess Simmo prefers Grehan.

Best of an awful bunch I’m afraid. At least six defenders needed in the summer including proper athletic wing backs. Simpson can’t keep picking a shape for players who are totally unsuited. The current results speak for themselves

Nail on head. We've no leaders on the pitch. Our next signing needs to be an experienced player with a gob on him as wide as the River Eden!

I've never met Paul huntingdon so maybe I'm being totally unfair, but he comes over as completely self absorbed. Someone above was saying he didn't organise against Orient, that was a carbon copy of Oxford home. Oxford and Vale away were worse. There are stories he doesn't travel away if he's not in the first 11. I've never heard of him putting in effort to help the younger players, Ellis, Robinson, who are struggling. He hasn't, as I know, done any badges. Overall, the impression, is that he does the bare minimum. Anyone got any positive experiences?

Its Simmo who gives him the option not to travel because as hes explained if hes on the bench he would not be used as a tactical replacement and only used in the case of an injury and Simpson has also said the fact that he only plays in one position also plays a part. I think if were going to have any chance or even make a good go of it we need a settled back line and for me that has to be the 5 and it has to have Huntingdon in it. They could put this 25 game thing to bed today by simply telling him keep it if you like but i wont allow you to reach the required games target or tear it up, start playing and actually earn that extra years contract by playing out of your skin.

Couldn’t meet a nicer fella apparently.

I think Huntington is our best CB still and don’t agree that he’s a bad personality or any of that.
However, whether he plays or not we’re still crap defensively so I’m not sure he’s the answer some think. Same as Whelan, who all of a sudden is a world beater. I think we are just crap.
