Well I think anyone who thinks Britain is a Christian country is unpatriotic, allowing that foreign muck of a religion to dominate.
Bring back paganism, and make Britain great again!

In fairness, the Trust seem to do very well with collecting food for the Foodbank which, hopefully, will mainly go towards helping these very people.

You clearly know very little about how a foodbank works In relation to homeless people 95% of what foodbanks have needs to be cooked not many homeless people tend to have cooking facilities So foodbanks as such are of very little use to Homeless People A lot of foodbanks now arent really interested in the stuff they get donated more efficient to work on developing income streams and deals with manufacturers and suppliers and more importantly bidding for grant money from the government and local authorities and the money they get from local and national charities But theres a lot more behind this than meets the eye. The guy who runs Iceland took a plan to the other supermarkets who agreed it was a good idea and as one they all signed up for it. Basically its that thing where they round up your bill to the next pound the supermarket then agree to match it and then the government were supposed to agree to match that total guess who backed out before it was up and running ?

I've no problem with the initiative to hold this event at BP. But I do have a problem with the the racist attitude by some on here and am embarrassed that they call themselves CUFC supporters.

Is this real racism or the modern day equivalent? See a Wrexham fan has been banned for 3 years for racism after he called a Tranmere fan an “English bastard”.

Shameful thread. Must be a few out of here who are the people chanting horrible stuff in the Warwick road end Why is it a shameful thread? why is it deemed shameful that we can’t call out the club/EDI out for the lack of anything on Easter Sunday yet do this for our Muslim community. Theres people commenting that wouldn’t do this regardless, I’m not one of those, I’m someone who says what’s good for one is good for all and I’m not getting that with this.

Why didn’t you start a thread about Easter and questioning why it wasn’t celebrated. Rather than aiming this at Muslims?

Why didn’t you start a thread about Easter and questioning why it wasn’t celebrated. Rather than aiming this at Muslims? Because it was tonight. I’m not aiming at Muslims as such, more that we have done this we have to include everyone hence the post prior that we should be doing the Sikh festival next.

True - I know little about foodbanks. The Church I attend puts on a weekly Mealbank (has done for nearly ten years now) where folk who need it can have a two/three course hot meal for free. We help in quite a number of other ways too. Understandably, it's very popular.

And is that aimed at homeless people or anyone in need of a good meal ?
My beef with assisting the Homeless people is that if you offer too much help in an area like Carlisle it will only result in more arriving from other areas defeating the whole object.
For me solving homelessness it needs to be a case of tough love
Bring in an area where it becomes an offence to erect a tent or sleep in a doorway but at the same time the local Authority at that point become responsible for providing accommodation for each and every one of those who wish to come off the street.
They did it during the pandemic and it was one of this governments biggest failures that it would have taken very little actual cash to have kept that good work going and no i dont mean the lazy ones who just stuck them in hotels and then kicked them out once the funding was stopped but those who got involved with people like Pastor Mick in Burnley or Lou Macari in Stoke who are doing a brilliant job and who others should be learning from.
I accept that youre never going to totally eliminate it in places like London and you'll only solve it in the likes of Manchester by funding what theyre trying to do properly but for gods sake how hard can it really be to solve the problem in a place like Carlisle.
But then we get to the crux of the matter in that we were one of the very few EFL clubs that didnt organise a sleep out to highlight the issue but do organise these bloody stupid things for people most of who shouldnt even be here in the first place which says to me the club have got its priorities completely wrong.

I've no problem with the initiative to hold this event at BP. But I do have a problem with the the racist attitude by some on here and am embarrassed that they call themselves CUFC supporters. And i.m embarrassed that there are people like you and Davidson in this country who cant see that we have no obligation whatsoever to have these people here whos one and only aim is to have their religion become the dominant one and impose their Sharia law on the rest of us. And who cant see that if we were to repatriate them back to where they came from we could solve a dozen of this countrys problems overnight Hospital waiting times, Getting Doctors appointments, Lack of school places, Housing shortages i could go on and on and thats before we get to the 7 million a day were spunking up the wall accommodating them in hotels add into that the other two hundred and fifty billion a year that were paying for the likes of Border force, the RNLI and the biggest leeches of all at Serco. We could all be living in a country where the government has so much spare cash they dont know what to do with it if only we had the balls to start booking the ferrys now and do what we did last time somebody tried to invade us and instead of welcoming the illegals ashore we drove them back into the sea and 3 months later the invasion would have stopped as theyd move on to the easier pickings elsewhere and then thered be no need for bloody ridiculous Rwanda schemes and the fortune that thats costing us all. Ask yourself why for every illegal who lands here we spend 50k on them in France its less than 5k is there any wonder why they get in the boats ? take the other 45k away and you.ll solve the problem overnight theyll stop coming and go and bother somebody else and then we can get on with removing the ones already here. But to end with a question How can you justify spending all this money on people who have no right whatsoever to be here when there are indigenous British people who are literally starving to death ? But hey call me Racist all you like because right now i see that as a badge of pride knowing that i can say i did my bit to defend this country and its people from the invasion thats currently taking place. Just think the last time somebody tried to invade us what we did to people who tried to assist them so the likes of Davidson should think about that very carefully next time he thinks about holding one of these things.
