At least that's the last home game of a disappointing season. No player is going to give 100% when a team's relegated became of the risk of a long-term injury.

Inexcusable, and one of many over the past 5-6 months.

We`ve had many a disappointing display to endure this season, but that would rank in the top 3 of piss poor performances. Wycombe were a bit off being one of the better League 1 teams we`ve seen, but still far too good for us, where the hell do you start with this lot, a defence that can`t defend, a midfield that struggles to create anything, I`ll go a bit easier on the strikeforce, I just don`t think they get anything like a decently consistent service. I`ve been a long time Simmo supporter, but agreeing more with the out camp as the season has progressed, but today I might have just crossed the line, I feel I can`t defend the guy much longer, his signings, his coaching and managing, poor. It may be just making something out of nothing but in Tom Piataks recent interviews I got the sense that perhaps there`s just a little frustration creeping in there with how things are going. We`ve got Simmo as manager going into next season, I`d guess he needs to get off to a decent start, I get the sense the support, both fans and owner, could turn against him pretty quick.

Yorkie, I think you have now got to the same place as I reached 2 months ago with Simpson. I've been desperate for him to show signs that lessons have been learned and next season will be better. I just don't see any evidence that this is the case. There is still a substantial "Simmo in" faction but most will admit that their faith is being stretched to breaking point. Today's performance was another chaotic and disjointed display which made me wonder what on earth goes on in the training sessions? The recruitment in January has made things worse. I just hope Simmo and Abbott have genuinely learned something and do much better this summer. If not we are in for a rocky season ahead.

If he hadn`t said thank you to the fans, he`d likely have been destroyed by some, so I feel it was the right thing to say.
Whist an apology might have been more apt, he might be talking himself out of a job, so I can see why he didn`t.
But for so many to stay behind, and applaud what has been an atrocious season, shows the core support we have, is better than it`s likely ever been. I remember back in the late 80`s I think, when things were really bad, our core support who would attend every game was around 1500+.
And now, that core support, must be around the 4-4500 mark, at a guess, and at the least. So despite the utter crap on the pitch, we`re in a good place, and once things get going again, we`ll be seeing some big crowds.
He cares about, and truly loves the club, of that there is no doubt, and you can see how much this season has taken out of him. Maybe he`s already made the decision to step down at the end of the season, and everything we`re hearing about next season, is just lip service, as they don`t want to say it out loud, and want to keep it in house, as Tom suggested.
A year ago, he was a happy chap, and I miss that beaming, and jovial Simpson, revelling after another win. If he`s still here next season, then I hope we can get back to seeing that every week in post match interviews, but looking at him now I wonder if this season has taken a LOT out of him, and he just wants it to end, and take a break from it all.
And I wouldn`t begrudge him that at all, but having to do a post match interview, when we`ve been getting beat for SO long, is something I wouldn`t want to be doing, and he must absolutely dread the final whistle, and trying to word what went wrong, and to try and keep everyone optimistic, and coming back, and that things will improve.

Well that might be the case if RC had an interviewer with balls to actually ask the questions that need asking instead of just joining in with the commiserations.

Well that might be the case if RC had an interviewer with balls to actually ask the questions that need asking instead of just joining in with the commiserations. Recruitment has been diabolical and nowhere near the level a league 1 club requires ? Team spirit from last season has evaporated ? You’ve been saying the same things every post match interview yet nothing changes? New players have had no impact whatsoever, why ? You want to be careful with the clubs funds yet seem to have wasted most of it this season? What changes are you going to make with your back room staff to prevent another disaster next season ? Why are you constantly belittling the club against peers like Cheltenham , Stevenage, Burton etc all of whom have a much poorer fan base. Have you still got it in you to turn it around? Etc etc Hope you’re reading James and Paul ??
