Today`s the day the clearout begins. On and off the pitch, it`s time start moving people on, beginning with the man in charge.

Get Gibson to fire him. You're fired Jordan, no you're fired Paul. Wouldn't put it past us.
Corey presumably doesn't even need to go in

As I said earlier, if he's staying, all the off pitch stuff needs to be allocated to others, probably additional admin personnel. He needs to be allowed/told to focus solely on first team matters, and hopefully recruit additional coaches who aren't yes men, so that any mistakes he makes are fed back to him. I've been very critical of him since January, but in retrospect, unless he's lost all his managerial know how dramatically, his failings must be down to him taking his eye off his primary role.

The Piataks have made clear that Simmo was central to the reason they chose to buy Carlisle. They’ve also said that likely relegation this season was also factored into their planning. Think this explains why he hasn’t been sacked. In their heads it seems like next season is when their project really starts Well if relegation was factored into their planning they should just do one right now Anyone who knows the EFL could have told them spend 2 million and stay in league on and you in effect get that back by not having vastly reduced income streams the following year in league 2 its not exactly fcukin rocket science. Going down and coming back stronger could work out better in the long term. Teams that have to throw money on a handful of players trying to stay up often have to do the same thing the next season and the one after. As they are relying on a couple of well played star names to do enough to keep them up rather than building a team. Until one day either the luck or the money runs out. It is a gamble though, as obviously no guarantees we will come back at first time of asking (or even the second)…

It is a gamble though, as obviously no guarantees we will come back at first time of asking (or even the second)… Or even avoid a second relegation. Stands to reason if you're in a higher division it should be easier to sign better players. There's no difference "throwing money at a handful of players hoping to stay up" and throwing money at a handful of players hoping to go up, apart from in a lower division you'll have lower quality players to choose from.

WTF ?! Why hasn`t it happened yet ?! OK, surely the good news will come tomorrow... It won't be happening. Simmo is at the wheel, for better or for worse. He's been given the full season, made the calls on contracts, and will now be given the summer to put things right. Hopefully he can turn it around, and we can bounce back.

Reading the released thread, and from the interview, I`m ready to accept he`s not going anywhere.
I feel like that chap from Creme Brulee, in the League of Gentlemen, after he realises what`s happened.
"Yeag, I think I understand now"
But he better bloody well get it right over the summer, and we ****ing STORM L2 !
That said, I`m in a real pissy mood, so I might carry on moaning about him for a little while longer.

The Community Sports Trust is looking to recruit a community coach. Seems a good job for Simmo to move into.

24/25 draft excuse list:
- It takes time to rebuild a team.
- It takes time for new players to gel.
- Our top transfer targets signed for clubs from higher divisions, we should not expect to compete.
- The Council are to blame for dragging their feet over the "training complex".
- The manager was absent for crucial periods through summer recruitment and preparation due to his surgery, he deserves a full unhindered pre-season.
- Unspecified players from 23/24 still under contract have refused to depart and are poisoning the dressing room.
- The dog ate the tactics sheet and recruitment shortlist.
Am I missing anything?

Love the professional football experts on here or maybe I should say professional moaners. Give it a rest let's just wait and see how we start after the close season. Its a good job you weren't Man Utd fans when Ferguson was one game away from being sacked he weathered his bad spell and the rest is history. If we start next season badly then by all means you'll be quite right to call for change but until then pull your heads in and let's see a bit of positivity going into next season.

If we sack Simmo we might not win the Champions League !! On the other hand let’s accept the total dross and say it’s utterly marvellous like numpty lad posting the above. Clearly we can’t complain until we’ve had two seasons of utter shite. Remind me, how many games did we lose last season ?
