Is it only me or, do others change their drinks depending on the weather, I love real ales, stouts and porters during winter, but it's IPA's and mostly lagers when it gets warmer, or at least when the rain stops.

You legend ! You beat me to it ! I spent too long staring at my Bishop`s Finger !
I began on Toby bitter, and remember my first pint being 48p back in about 1992. Then drank a lot of Worthingtons.
But I`ve been a lager drinker for the last 30 years, but fancied a change in the new year, and picked up some Theakston`s Old Peculiar, bloody LOVED that stuff, until my local Tesco stopped selling it.
Flagship store in the country my arse !
Then moved onto Bishops Finger, as it was the best priced, and that`s what matters to me nowadays. But recently came across the Erdinger range in Tesco, and quite like those. Although can`t neck them like I used to do.
What I like most about drinking these kind of beers/ales, is I can open them as soon as I get home.
Spent a long time drinking the Polish stuff, Tyskie was my favourite, but it needed either 4-5 hours in the fridge, or a quick 1 hour super chill in the freezer before opening.

Quite enjoy some of the Great Corby beers, amongst others, Coffee Milk Stout as a winter drink, and Corby Blonde and Signal Peak and the occasional cider as more of a summer drink.

Loweswater Gold, Corby Ale or Corby Blonde for me and had a nice pint or two of Timothy Taylor's Landlord whilst in the Derby area last weekend.
Lager should only be drunk abroad when the temperature is around 80, though have had decent ones in the likes of Poland and Czech Republic.

I can't drink lager, too gassy and plays hell with my guts besides I wouldn't even clean the toilet with it. My preffered beers are Coniston Blue Bird and Loweswater Gold but I do enjoy the Elderflower ones.
Ale has gone a bit samey for me the last few years and you can try loads of different ones and they're all very similar. Cold kills flavour also.

Getting tempted to try some of this Erdinger Dunkel next, just don`t fancy going back to lager now.

If you can find it, “tank beer” is worth a try. Basically it is lager type beer but they don’t filter/pasteurise it (i.e. remove the flavour).
I had it in Prague but you occasionally find pubs in the UK and other places selling tank Staropramen etc…
Gets delivered straight from Czechia in a big tank, so not cheap. Probably more cost effective to fly to Prague on Ryanair…

A Military type tank? Do they shoot the delivery through one of your windows?

The tank looks like a big copper tea urn sat on its side.
Usually prominently displayed in the bar as a gimmick to convince bozos to pay twice as much for a pint. Worked in my case of course

That Erdinger Dunkel is quite nice, it fizzes into the glass a bit more than the lighter one, which takes an age for the head to go down. But this one is really dark, and bloody lovely !
And not a tank in sight !

I can pour a bottle of Bishop`s Finger, into the glass, and in one go. This Erdinger stuff needs longer to settle, and several pours.
Really nice though.

I need to talk to you about angles of elevation, and trajectories !
I`m tired of having to thumb one in, and so is she !
