Hi! Just popped over to wish you and your team all the best for the new season. Those fans that travelled to Pride Park on Saturday were a credit to your club. They were loud and hope they enjoyed their visit to Derby (except for the result).Sorry they were not able to clap your players at the end due to a couple of us fans on the pitch but I for one will be looking out for your results next season. As to our day it doesn't get much better whichever league you are in. Promotion only comes around not very often so with me,in my late 60s, I may never see another in my lifetime. Really enjoyed a fantastic day and thank you again for making it a special occasion. PS Afraid to say joined in with the 'bounce' even with my hips!!!

Thanks Ramsfan. I was impressed with the Derby supporters and enjoyed the visit to Pride Park (the result aside). You certainly have to enjoy these moments while you can. Good luck for next season.

I didn't go but my lad who's 14 went and despite the result had an absolutely fantastic day. He was absolutely buzzing about the ground, your supporters passion, pitch invasion and of course the scenes on the pitch. Despite the results we have had some fantastic away days this season and it's been a real pleasure to visit some proper clubs and stadiums. Not particularly looking forward to away days next season with trips to crap grounds with few fans but not enough room to house us travelling blues. Hopefully it will only be for a season and it will be us bouncing on the pitch this time next year.

Had a fantastic day at Derby on Saturday, all the stewards made you feel welcome, unlike most places, brilliant stadium, top fans, good luck in the championship.

Thanks raminpeace we enjoyed our day at Pride Park very much, apart from the result. Your club, your fans and your whole set-up should never have been in league 1 and you thoroughly deserve to get back up to the Championship, and hopefully beyond. The atmosphere inside the ground was fantastic and was as loud as I can remember anywhere. As others have said you absolutely have to enjoy those moments when they come along. Best of luck for next season.

With a bit of luck Forest will go down and you can smash them next season.
Good luck in the Championship, back where you belong!

Spent the weekend in Derby, which was great by what I can remember all the Rams fans were friendly and helpful, and that 'bounce' thing was something to behold, one of the best atmospheres I've ever seen at a football ground. We even travelled down with a Derby fan on the train (he now lives near Carlisle) and is now going to take in a few United games next season. Also met our new owners in 'The Standing Order Pub' which was a big highlight for us. Anyway, all the best for the new season, Smash that lot from Nottingham, even if its just for my Notts County mate. All the best.

Thanks raminpeace. It was a great day for you and the early goal would’ve settled any nerves that you might’ve had and made your day more comfortable.
It was my 1st visit to Pride Park & yes, I know not every game will be a promotion party with a full house but I was impressed from the moment the stadium came into view with the statue of Brian Clough & Peter Taylor very prominent to the atmosphere outside the ground before the game.
Inside, I thought the home fans were fantastic throughout, the stadium too good for League 1, not just the size of it but the acoustics, the layout of the advertising hoardings, the big screen etc. I realise it might’ve been different on a cold Tuesday night in November(!) but in my opinion Derby are a proper football club with excellent tradition and history. Best of luck to you next season.
Unfortunately, we’re not as big a club as Derby but hopefully the Piatak’s will have felt similar to me on Saturday and be determined to deliver success for us on the pitch so trips to Pride Park, Reebok Stadium (or whatever it’s called these days!) and others become the norm - and not just for the day out either - we should be looking to go to these places to compete not just to make up the numbers. And if the owners are in any doubt, sobering trips to Salford, Newport, Harrogate and Barrow next season to name just a few should be motivation itself.
Brunton Park is a completely different type of stadium to the ones I mentioned above (Derby, Bolton) but it is a excellent ground with fantastic character, you’ve only got to cast your mind back to the end of last season when it was bursting at the seams for evidence of that. I welcome the improvements that are underway, hopefully it will modernise parts of the stadium and hopefully improve income on a match day, but without taking anything away from the character and authentic match day experience that it can offer.
Whilst it is an exciting time for the club off the pitch, it’s also extremely important, as others have alluded to on a separate thread, that we (owners etc) don’t put all our eggs in one basket so to speak, and concentrate more on this than what is happening on the pitch. Listening to the recent Tom Piatak interview with James Phillips I’m confident that this won’t be the case, so it’s then down to the football staff to get the recruitment right this summer which goes without saying. Reading between the lines in that Piatak interview, it seems if we don’t hit the ground running next season then it’s curtains for Simmo and I don’t think there could be any complaints about that.
Let’s see what the next couple of months bring…
