If he retires, he gets 3 years salary. Is that from the PFA? In part. All players have compulsory PFA insurance that covers 18 months, then most have an extra policy that covers another 18 months. He gets it from the date he officially retires, so he'll wait until he is in the last year of his contract. It's based on his average salary over the previous two years (from memory) so he'll want to get some appearance fees and goal bonuses included

Had the pins out of his Fibula today according to his Instagram… Time to full fitness after this type of hardware removal = 3/6 months. All being well he might be ready for a full 90 minutes around Christmas time.

Easy to be wise after the event, but a few of the early posts on some of these resurrected threads make amusing reading.

Had the pins out of his Fibula today according to his Instagram… The fact that the only update we've had on Wyke is via his personal Instagram is odd. It wasn't that long ago that his scheduled appearance on a podcast was pulled by the club. Fair enough, but they haven't followed up with any sort of interview of their own. I dont know whether this is because the club are looking to offload Wyke; there's a similar radio silence surrounding Jones as well. We're also in the dark about Feeney's injury... The lack of transparency seems a bit weird to me.

"As promised, we will continue to communicate transparently and directly with you." I’d be very upset if my employer disclosed medical information about me (probably illegal)

All being well he might be ready for a full 90 minutes around Christmas time. That's when they are removed a few weeks after surgery. For many operations they never need to remove the metalwork so it may have just been a personal choice.

Charlie may have regular cardiac mri (without his IED) to monitor his heart condition in which case they might think better to have no other metal in his body even titanium. He won't be able to return to football without his cardiologist giving him the ok so his fibula is less of a concern.
