Robinson - Conference North player, not good enough for the FL and definitely not a MF player. It would be nice to offer constructive criticism, but this hits the nail on the head. Add on McCalmont, Ellis and charters. Regan Slater played so many average games for us. But every once in a while you would see a sliver of magic, Swindon away when he ran the game. Never seen anything from any of these, 1 cross from Robinson against port Vale, that's it. We can't carry them again next year

I think you were unclear as Mellish has rarely been substituted and more often move into midfield when we changed formation. I was more confused at the basic factual accuracy. Also not proved , did you forget about last season ? Or when he hit 16 goals from midfield in a season ?...like if your going to make a point back it up . If you think Mellish is the issue in our defence then you need to get your head screwed on , he's was our only player with any athletic ability so has had to play a hybrid of a defender and midfielder all year and do the running of our entire team. I should have known when I posted that, as his biggest fan, you would respond just like your hero, with your heart rather than your head. To meet your demands I will back that up with this:- The reason he "had to play a hybrid of a defender and midfielder all year and do the running of our entire team" is that he isn't good enough to justify a place as an out and out defender or as a midfielder. In essence he is a jack of all trades, master of none. Sadly for Jon, the "athletic ability" that you refer to, is the one footballing attribute he has, and at League 1 level it is not enough. Wait a sec you said he hasn't proved himself as all in 5 seasons , I pointed out that in the back 3 in league 2 he had a very good season , I then pointed to his goal scoring season . You seem to want to change the argument every time you reply. I'm certainly not Mellish's biggest fan , he is hot headed , has a poor touch . Although I think you just have an over the top hatred of him which means you always look for the negatives. Weird they former pros , coaches and every one who has worked with him makes him one of their first players to get into the teams...I rate their opinion more than you. I may have a fond spot for Mellish because of his attitude but you just clearly have an irrational hatred of him which also skews your view.

Not going to be back for the start of the season. If missing pre season will have a detrimental effect on his performance we really are Donald ducked. Isn't Ellis the same with his back/hip?

He’s an outstanding overlapping fullback who can slip comfortably into midfield if required That’s what they told Greg in the Dog and Ferret after buying him 15 pints first !
