If B teams had been in the league before now we'd most probably have been relegated into the non-league decades ago and we'd be lucky to have any sort of professional football club in the city.
It's all very well saying "admit B teams at the lowest level of the pyramid", but it has a negative impact at every level of the sport.
Say, for example ten B teams make it to Conference level. That means ten actual non-league clubs would be denied promotion in the process.
For every B team which makes it to league level, it means a current professional team has to be relegated to make space. This has a knock on and damaging effect at every level of the sport.
It's entirely different in a bespoke cup competition, but the impact on the pyramid of admitting these teams into the competition would be entirely negative.
Just out of interest, how would the transfer window and budget cap apply to B teams?

Not sure if they can get promotion but B teams are playing in the Lowland League (Gretna's league). The teams must have been quite generously compensated for it for them to agree I would think. Celtic and Rangers are second and third with games in hand.
It would be the beginning of the end if it did happen this side of the border.

Why don't the Clubs of all these so called underused players form their own league, lets call it the B League, and play each other every week ?
