(Not that there's anything wrong with working on a forecourt, of course)

Are you Forecourt Manager at Southwaite Servy? Na mate, I'm in a 'slightly' different line of work. Don't get me wrong, it's not Haliburton, but it's a wee bit more specialised than a forecourt. Ok mate, my bedtime before LW start their night shift on here…. LUMMY WATCH

Just finished this. Good episode but please drop the interruptions when people are speaking, same person doing it every show. Should it not be “Tom the second” not “Tom Two”? Informative from the new owners, good listening.

Plenty of us are based overseas in different time zones which will be a factor in overnight activity. By product of a successful global forum!

Seemed pretty obvious to me who Lummy was going for 'people trying to get bites, trying to get attention'. Who on here is constantly trying to make it about them? I wonder... Oh ok, can you name them? Don’t come on here much, ironically for the reasons Lummy gave.

I haven’t listened to any of the podcasts ever, so can’t comment on either but fair play to everyone that does it as if just one listens it’s a bonus.
I prefer to read my information, in all honesty I don’t think I’ve listened to a podcast on anything ever.
On posting hours, I don’t post through the night as I need my 8/10 hours of sleep to keep my MS at bay. If I was on here all night I wouldn’t be a well bunny.

Informative from the new owners, good listening. Listened to this earlier, just really enjoy hearing what they have to say. Very genuine and don't try and bombard with corporate BS. Thought it was interesting that other clubs where sniffing about them once it was apparent they where the real deal. My opinion is that we have been really, really fortunate for this particular family to choose us to invest in. Time will obviously tell but the vibes they give off are so positive without been completely unrealistic.

“really, really fortunate” is the understatement of the century.

I mostly work nights but when it's quiet a reading of this MB fills in the time especially after we've played that day so that's the reason for my late postings sometimes.

Listening to the BBC Radio Cumbria podcast I felt like slashing my wrists as a CUFC fan. We’re so lucky to have a team in division one as our club was at such a low base and we fluked our way into division one via a miracle.. Nobody wants to come here as we are such a remote outpost and any other club is a more attractive prospect. Really ?
Firstly I don’t want anybody at my club that doesn’t want to play for the shirt but there are plenty of players in Scotland and the North of England that we could look at. Yes we are in competition with other teams but surely we must be a more attractive long term prospect at the moment as opposed to clubs that just tick over year on year of which we were once one.
Secondly I appreciate that this season is a challenge but geography didn’t stop us achieving the top division before. Stunning county and a club that’s looking forward with a strategy. Yes we might go down but by God we’re in a better position than most to bounce back.

I know what you mean Frank in that if you listened to Lummy we'd never be able to attract any good players and giants like Stevenage and Northampton dwarf us. That said, I kind of understand where he is coming from to a degree, we know we had a terrible budget and were unprepared for promotion. Our location is a factor and cannot be ignored but in the past it sometimes worked in our favour when we got lots of players from Scotland and the NE. As ever there are a multitude of factors in the success or failure of a club. If we go down, at least with Piataks backing, you'd hope we would be competitive.

Thing about Lummy constantly waffling on about budgets is we are Carlisle United. If the aim is to solidify in L1 and then go for the championship then there's always going to be teams with bigger budgets than us. If that's such a factor to the point we have no chance of competing, then we might as well not bother and just aim for mid table L2 every season.

Just think that after so many seasons of mediocrity both on and off the pitch that even the media have forgotten how to dream. If there’s no hope then there’s no point. Yes I know that there’s always a dose of realism thrown in but for goodness sake. Bet Brighton and Brentford thought what’s the point . We can’t compete with the big boys . No they didn’t and look at them. As you say , if it’s constant budgets and geography let’s pack in now and all go and do something else. Clubs never been stronger. Football wise it’s not great but then “ Rome wasn’t built in a day “. No supporter is expecting over night success but let’s enjoy the journey and see where we end up.

Not withstanding, how many of us would have accepted relegation if it meant new owners with ambition for the club and the City ?
