Clubs are starting to put out kit options for next season, and giving fans a chance to vote. Personally I'd like our first team kit to have white shorts in future.

Agreed, much sooner see the home kit as the classic - blue shirt, white shorts, blue socks, any amount of experimentation available with the away kit.

The Titanic is scraping against the iceberg and here we have our supporters complaining about shorts.
I await the inevitable thread about soup and discussion about "the state of the lane" and who is responsible...

You`re right pal, the state of that lane, I dunno, who`s responsible. Soup on a cold winter`s day for your dinner - brilliant. WTF was the captain of the Titanic thinking, did he not see that big f*ck off iceberg, should`ve gone to specsavers before that maiden voyage.

2024/25 Season will be the 50th Anniversary of our only season in the top flight and the 20th Anniversary of our only season in the Conference. We'll probably have a tribute-style kit based on one of those (no prizes for guessing which one). They do both have white shorts, however...

24/25 is also 30yrs since we wore the Deckchair in our first Wembley appearance. That as an Away, or even Third Kit (Dependent on what any other Away would be) would sell bundles in the current climate IMO…

We had Division 1 "tribute" kits already in 2000 for two seasons, 2007 for two seasons, 2014/15, 2015/16 and again in 2021/22.
It's just about the most boring, unoriginal kit idea ever.
What's wrong with traditional blue? Keep the Birmingham City rip off in the past where it belongs now.

Much as I am a traditionalist, white shorts don’t tend to do most people many favours, for various reasons.

No. The Titanic was designed to withstand a (head on) collision with another ship, not an iceberg. Colliding with another ship means the force of impact would've been split, but with a stationary iceberg it means the Titanic would've taken all of the force. It's likely a head on collision (and the additional impacts caused by the body of ice under the water) would've flooded even more compartments faster than they could've been shut resulting in the ship sinking in minutes rather than hours. You also have to factor in the quality of steel used back and the effect of cold upon it (making it more brittle). So a head on collision with an ice block would've been even catastrophic in this respect.

Personally I'd keep the fruit salad as away and have the deckchair as third. And has to be white shorts for the home.

Rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic? Could be extremely apt.

If only the Titanic had an Iceberg Analyst those poor buggers may have survived

If only the Titanic had an Iceberg Analyst those poor buggers may have survived Inventory analysts would have been a better idea - they'd maybe have remembered to ensure the lookouts had access to their binoculars...
