If Charters wasn't an academy player fans would have wanted him released years ago , as mentioned he's nearly 23 now , and if we're going to do better we need better .

Desperate for creativity, but unless he changes the formation we will be stuck with wing backs who will either be defenders, or attackers. Very few are good enough to do both in Div 4.

This is a good point. No one is brought up or developed to be a wing back. It could be argued that we did well with 532 last season but that relied on Mellish making unorthodox forward runs when attacking and the back 5 being a back 4. Additionally, a lot of the time that I can recall, the midfielder 3 were Guy, Moxon and Gibson which is more forward thing and attacking than current iterations of it.

He’s forward thinking, has good technique and half decent set pieces. If he was a player on loan to us I’d want to sign him permanently.

Nah I agree on Charters. If McCalmont played like Him we’d be fuming. Based on being local and academy though I’d still give charters another year here. The likes of McCalmont etc need to go though.

Think calling a player with 3 goals and 2 assists (officially ) in 58 matches (2169 minutes ) with us forward thinking is a bit kind.

Don’t understand all this ‘Loan Charters’ stuff? The lad is 23yo in the Autumn. He’s either good enough for our Squad in L2 or we move him on IMO… Forgot how old he is, the loan move would have been be to get up to match fitness, as along with Mcgeouch and Butterworth having a team in a reserve league would make their transition to first team football less of a step up. Has a reserve team league entry been mentioned in the new plans?

Maybe it`s coaching, maybe it`s how he`s being told to play, but he`s someone I`ve been expecting to break out for years now.

How many minutes? How many games had absolutely horrendous strikers?

Apologies! I think we have bigger problems to sort than whether charters should be in the squad next season or not But the first condition of him staying for me would be that he changes agents given whats gone on this season.

Apologies! That's alright, but on your further point , we were a promotion team last season with a 20+ goal scoring striker.

Mass clearout needed. Barclay and Robinson would be the first for me. National North standard players.
I'd retain Armstrong to see what he could do with some proper service and we need legs all over the pitch.

I’d let him go if the transfer fee could be recouped.
