Just looking at the Chsmpions League teams tonight and I notice they have two substitute keepers on the bench. This is probably not new, but no wonder we end up with loads of crap keepers at this level. A few years ago we were getting the likes of Pickford and Krul here for a bit of game time. City have two keepers on the bench every game. The big Cumbrian Carson is having the time of his life

I didn`t know that about registering GK`s either !
Wish Holy the best, wherever he goes next, but I`d take a youngster released from higher up, to battle Breeze for the No.2 spot.
If we`re going with a reserve team next year, they`ll both likely get a fair amount of playing time.

I don't know if it's already been said, but Mark Gillespie is out of contract at the end of the season and supposed to be leaving Newcastle. I think he would be a quality signing.

Never really rated him that highly when he was here tbh. Obviously been at Newcastle for a while now so training with real quality. Would you expect him to be better now or if he's played a few hundred extra games in L1 and 2?

Apart from 3 League cup games in 20/21 he hasn't played for almost 3 years. We need to be looking at someone whose either been a regular starter or another young project like Breeze

I always have a special affiliation to players who come through our youth team.

Gillespie suggested he may be Oz bound on Instagram recently.
Either to say hello to Tom Aldred or make the move himself…

If we.re looking at a yougster on loan the lad from Man U whos on loan at Accrington would be worth a look. Hes now had a full half season under his belt.

Yesterday's performance proved Lewis isn't good enough to have the number 1 shirt, even managed to replicate his pathetic fake dive, for Wycombe's third, that he pulled off after Barclay scored in last season's playoffs. He's a shot stopper, but unable or unwilling to come for crosses and has been very poor since his arrival.

Breeze needs game time, at the very least we should have been starting him as soon as relegation was confirmed.

Think it’s a bit premature to write him off completely but needs dropping on form.
Starting Breeze against Derby would send both keepers into preseason motivated and with something to think about

On the the topic of loaning a keeper, I think in all reality it is far better to have one you own, a loan keeper can be recalled and then **** your season, we have seen it happen with other loans but keeper is a crucial position.
Lewis hasn't had the best of starts and was seemingly in the process of having a bad season at Bradford as well.
Of course, numb nuts will have got a call, you looking for a keeper? Lewis can be had for a 100k.
We need a good keeper coach back at the club.
I'm also still unconvinced about Breeze, he still lets a lot of easy shots go in and saving shots with his knuckles in pregame warm ups for my liking.
Though he didn't do much wrong in his 4 games tbh.
In retrospect, it might have paid to play him until the season ended and then look to buy but, of course, we were still trying to avoid the drop at that point.
