However sad, it's not a surprise. The FA Cup has been dwindling for quite some time now. Usurped by the Premier League. The European Super League is pretty much inevitable too. It's just a matter of time. It's the lack of 'trickle down' of Premier League monies that is problem in my mind. There are now 70 plus 'traditional' professional football clubs and another 15-20 entertainment and marketing conglomerates. Just let them fcuk off and join it then But insert a completely watertight clause that under no circumstances will they ever be allowed back. I've been saying that for a while - just tell them to p*** ***, and tell them they can't come back and oh, by the way, your players can't play for their national teams either. I still have no issue with the doing away of replays, so long as there was more prize money for those lower league teams to offset what could have been earned from a replay. Small change in the big scheme of things, but a big difference to those lower down the food chain. I have more issues relating to the expanding of the World Cup on top of what they have already done to the European Cup, and don't get me started on the Europa League and European Conference Leagues. There are far more games been played in those overblown European competitions than there are FA Cup replays. All to keep the wealthy clubs happy and even wealthier, and to ensure they don't go it alone. Just let them go, everyone will get bored soon enough watching the same teams over and over again, meanwhile the top European leagues may become competitive again. Edited to add: Semi finals should go back to being held at neutral grounds - there are plenty of suitable stadiums now, and it takes away the 'magic' of a final at Wembley And the final should always be the last game of the season, a week after the final round of league games. Rant over.

The Euro Super League is coming, and I don`t think anything can stop it.
It`s about the younger fans now, and what will keep them hooked, and by herding them all towards the bigger teams, it will help accelerate the decline of the rest of them, to the point there are only the big teams left, and making money.
They`ve done the same with Star Wars, and other franchises, they`re not made for the older fans any more, everything is made with the younger generation in mind, and trying to get them hooked for life. Seems to have failed miserably with Star Wars at least, so we can only hope the youth of today, just don`t buy into it.
But with how much control social media and peer pressure has over their lives, I can see them buying into this modern football, and unless there is a concerted effort to re-balance things, it`s not going to change back to how it was.
Unless prem clubs start going bankrupt, and out of business, but then the prem/FA would just bail them out.
Maybe this new regulator will help get things fixed. An invesigation into how EVERY prem club spends their money, would be a good start.

Everton is a prime example of how money if not spent wisely can destroy a club. They have spent over £550m (half a Billion) on individuals who have sadly failed to become a team, we complain about our recruitment, but in 2017 they signed 4 numbers 10's. It'll be interesting to see what the PL say or do if they call the creditor's in, as the proposed deal with 777 currently on the table isn't looking promising. Probably nothing as it's all about the top 6 and their aspirations in Europe, there'll have been more than me having a quiet chuckle on seeing the Super League Wannabees all getting knocked out of Europe this week.
Getting back to our recruitment hopefully we don't make a similar mistake now that we have money, and blow it on expensive individuals who can't play together or don't fit into the managers game plan.

There's a game plan? In one person's head there is, sadly it's not transmitted to others in a manner that is understandable.
