WE’VE GOT SUPER PAUL SIMPSON!!! In Simmo we trust!👍🏼 Is the Garlands still open? How many seasons has he been our manager now… 6? 1 bad season I make it? Not down to him either, in my opinion. Victim of his own success this year? Hard to please you pal.👎🏼

1 bad season?
Worst. Season. Ever.
Ward got us to the L1 playoffs and got sacked by bonfire night the next season.
Simpsons bloody lucky these new owners came in. Even Jenkins would have binned him off in February
And if his sons a dick it needs pointed out to both of them and to get it sorted

A good honest assessment of things by Simpson from the 2nd interview video put up earlier.
Hope he turns it around and gets us promoted so bring on next season!

A multiple promotion winning manager, local and committed to the area, bags of experience - you can understand why the Piataks would want to give him another chance in L2
However he lost the dressing room in January and with various disciplinary issues and shambolic performances since then, he seemingly never got close to winning them back
So can he turn the squad around into a motivated and professional outfit in the course of one pre-season? Hope so, but seems unlikely given half of the squad will be here next year. But if he pulls it off it won’t be his first unlikely success with the blues…

As he says, football is bloody fickle. The reasons he took us up haven't suddenly disappeared overnight, as much as some on here would like it to be the case to fit a narrative they've built in their heads. The general lack of respect by some on here is pretty awful, given all he's done for the club.
However, as he says, it was an awful season, and he should be rightly expected to bounce back quickly, and promotion is the only outcome where I can still see him in the job at the end of the year.
We should have high standards now given our ownership. I still believe he can do it, because he's done great things for us before. His record speaks for itself. I still think recruitment is where we've fallen down, and it's the area I'll be personally judging the most harshly going into the next season. Simmo can talk all he wants about getting 'the right personalities' in, but I don't want us burning cash to support a flawed recruitment approach and risking our future.

You watch the best manager and their tactics change every year , their training changed every year.
Simmo talked about how we used the same formations as last year , training was consistent...this interview showed for me a failure to adapt, you have to change otherwise you get worked out

Logically the better you do, the better the offer. But still hard to keep going if you don't know where you'll be living, what your salary will be.

Look at Peterborough as an example. I think the overall failure was managing to bring consistency, which I think comes down to player mentality too. I level a lot of the blame at Simmo's door, but not all of it. Also, I don't think anyone here knows much about training regimes in professional football, so I don't think that's something we can judge too much given Simmo's experience. The most important thing is how we move forwards now, no point looking back apart from learning lessons from the mistakes.

I'm just taking things from his interview, and what other managers state about how they stayed on top . Also management is the same across all business , the staff mentality is significantly down to the management team, which is Simmos responsibility.

Huntington: because he wouldn't travel - supposedly. Whelan: Wouldn't just move on - allegedly Kayode: Feigned injury - presumably There's more: so the story goes Nothing at all to do with the boss: by all accounts I’m not sure how Whelan refusing to be forced out of his job means he has a bad attitude I was being sarcastic, hence the word choice at the end of each sentence. I obviously didn't do a very good job

We’re in the same league now as when he was manager first time round .. so you can add multiple relegations to your multiple promotions . Nobody is doubting his commitment to the club. The question is whether he has the necessary skill set to keep us on an upward trajectory
