I thought this was the best place to put this…
The team that played in his first match to Orient away that was National League bound to the team that played yesterday
Despite the fact the team he inherited struggled until Simmo came along I think you have to say the team he inherited was better with more players or experienced pros with “character”
Howard
Riley Feeney Simeu Mellish Armer
Gibson Guy (c) Devitt (Whelan 60)
Patrick (Omotoye 77) Dennis (Sho-Silva 80)
Subs - Breeze (gk), Alessandra, Roberts, Windsor
Ellis
Back Barclay Lavelle (Huntingdon 65) (c) Armer (Fitzpatrick 85)
Neal
Diamond (Gibson 65) McCalmont Mellish
Armstrong(Omotoye 77) Kelly (Dudik 65)
Subs - Breeze (gk), Ellis, Harris

This just kind of highlights that something is fundamentally broken in our recruitment process.

This just kind of highlights that something is fundamentally broken in our recruitment process. Especially if we are putting a right back in goal 😆

Triskelion, you are absolutely right. Despite two bites of the recruitment cherry most fans would prefer the team put out 2 years ago. One disappointment is the new signings haven't impressed from day one. We've had to try and believe yes they need to get up to speed or they're recovering from some injury, the team needs to gel etc. I was fortunate to see Jabo make his 'debut' in the friendly at Blyth Spartans and thought wow what a player!! Despite promising early games from Neal and Diamond both of them have had the quality knocked out of them. Yes recruitment seems to have failed but everything at the club needs to be reviewed in the summer. We just can't have more of the same.

Thanks someone who gets the point that despite heading to the National League the team from 2 years ago had players that would never have rolled over like the lot this season have Some old heads seasoned pros It just needed Simmo to come in steady the ship It's also a bit worrying that a team heading to the National League looks better on paper than the current crop

Just a note as bad as Millen was as a manager his actual signings did well after he was sacked, I don't think these players are league 1 level but I also don't think they are as bad as we've played this season .

Its already been said elsewhere in this thread but the Abrahams/Mampala combination up front has to be hands down the worst forward pairing ever, the current pairing have some pedigree but are playing in a badly assembled team, poorly managed with no width, no pace and no idea... instead of the front two looking forward to enticing crosses coming in from the wings or intelligent balls played to feet on the 18 yard line the two incumbents in our front line haved faced the prospect of 90 minutes of balls coming down from a 1000ft or receiving the ball and looking up to see the midfield a distant 20 yards away.... Haaland would still be in single figures with this set up..... time for a change Tom..

To be fair to the strikers we don't create anything. We have Gibson and diamond but they hardly get played. Expecting armer and Ellis to cover the full length of the pitch, beat opposition, put in crosses and defend is optimistic. Butterworth added some relief but inevitably got injured.
I really wish Gibson would stay, but he won't. Let's hope we have 2 decent wide players next season and they get on the pitch. Then we can judge the strikers

Worst strike force? Those who saw Richard Sendall and Tony Fyfe play up front might disagree!!
