“If you really want better candidates increase the wage to 150k but no extra jobs or directorships and buy a couple of hotels where they are the only places you can claim the expenses of staying over.” I’d go for that as I think most people would. If they were working for their constituents or ministerial jobs they shouldn’t have time to have second jobs elsewhere. The girl we have here Sara Britciffe a rising star in the tory ranks has been open and honest about what she does extra earning about 50k a year on top of her salary but she commits the same amount of time to volunteering at 3 different charities in Hyndburn. And she has done a lot of work on the football bill as well as opening a lot of doors in parliament for Andy Holt to get in and fight for the lower league clubs. When she got elected i any many others thought shed be a disaster but i.m happy to say i.ll be voting for her at the election and i will be very surprised if she doesnt get back back in even if the torys get wiped out and that should be helped because to date her opponent is due to be Graham Jones the second Labour candidate to get suspended with Aziz. Problem is we need him to get expelled from the Labour party as hes the last thing we need is him stirring the shit locally with a chip on his shoulder from being removed as the election candidate for gobbing off about bloody Gaza

Reform have no chance to win anywhere if they select people like Danczuk, that was a serious own goal. If they want to challenge the two main parties and the upcoming threat of Muslim driven ones they need credible candidates. I went to a networking event for possible candidates and agents in Mcr and there were some pretty impressive guys there and now that theyve lifted the bar on past memberships it will open it up even further and Tice apparently has a text hes sent to hundreds of possible candidates if you believe Galloway he was approached which i actually find crazy but the last few days in Rochdale has been exactly that.

NS's comment above about his local MP is illustrative of one of the good points in our political system. You can vote for an individual as your local representative - and he or she might outshine the party he/she represents. You don't get this certainty with Proportional Representation.
We would still be voting in the next general election if there was an outstanding local candidate, but the options are well below worthy. Sadly, on this occasion, the option of "don't encourage them" by not voting seems "best".

Does Miss Nipples not fancy standing as i.m sure the name alone would garner plenty of attention.

Does Miss Nipples not fancy standing as i.m sure the name alone would garner plenty of attention. We finally put a ring on Nipples' finger last June (obviously not legally speaking, as you can only do so with one wife - i.e. Mrs WLYC), so the "Miss" bit is now outdated. But, yes, she is genuinely outstanding in numerous ways, as Carlisle fans who have met her know. Nobody forgets Nipples for all the right reasons (even with Mrs WLYC standing next to her - who is the real Wonder Woman). She's actually got better things to do in terms of bringing about change. In terms of politics, nothing gets under her skin more than the absurdities of the EU. (There's been lots of talk over past years about writing a script for a "24" version of "Bomb the EU", with Nipples being the female Jack Bauer intent on destroying that sick institution.) We're a million miles away from being prudish, but we're thankfully not into whips - although I remember Miss Whiplash sadly failing at the election box, if I'm correct.

If reform cant even get more than 2000 votes in that shambles of a Rochdale election then theyve got absolutely no hope of winning anywhere else. Everything was in there favour with the mess that Labour made of the campaign, the mess that the Tories have made of the country and how polarised Rochdale is with immigration, and they still come way behind someone who pretended to be a cat on big brother! Well you clearly know absolutely nothing about what went on yesterday in Rochdale How the hell do you have a legitimate election when 3 of the candidates arent even present on voting day and another one wasnt allowed into the count by the complete imbeciles at GMP Plod. And why do you have a declaration in a room no bigger than my living room Galloway deserved to win he manipulated the Muslim vote to ensure that he did but whats the point electing him he never survives the following election the best thing for Rochdale would have been if the independant guy who came from from nowhere had won. Disappointing result for Reform but i saw it coming and said so Danczuk was a crap MP last time who left in disgrace Why the hell Tice picked him to stand god knows. The next by election is likley to be in Blackpool Sth where its 98% white so there will be none of this Muslim manipulation and if you want to see evidence of that i.ll bet the number of postal votes applied there for wont amount to 25% of what there was yesterday
Typical right winger to cry fraud when they lose. I bet you think Biden beating Trump was fraud too. As you know I think your polticial views range from the daft to the dangerous, but fair play to you for getting out and engaging in the democratic process. I will also be canvassing this election and Id bet we are the only two actually out knocking on doors

Sunaks speech was incredible, democracy when he wasn’t voted in by the members.
Islamist Extremism, that many warned about for years but no one did anything about it and has flooded this country.

I'd caution against the assumption that folk who post on here have no experience in the wider world.

I'd caution against the assumption that folk who post on here have no experience in the wider world. Youre quite right there Moonie as regards a good number of people who post on here the amount of knowledge and experience is astounding. But there are others who either cant see whats going on right in front of their faces or more worryingly refuse to believe it because the likes of the BBC tell them it isnt really happening and cant take it when someone whos involved a lot more closely than they are puts personal experiences right there in front of them. They need to forget all the crap theyve been fed by the lovey dovey left wing arseholes masquarading as teachers in our schools colleges and universities for the past 30 years and get out and see things in the real world for themselves for a change or are you telling me the likes of what we,ve seen on the streets of our capital city over the last couple of months isnt really happening. I have any number of clips that would churn your stomach that i could post on here that people tucked away in the likes of Carlisle would almost certainally question the validity of with comments like " that wasnt taken in Birmingham" when they know full well that in all liklihood it probrably was and you can sum up the deniers with their reaction to the simple term " The Muslim invasion of Britain " in that they deny its happening when the truth is they know full well that it really is.

NS: Nipples is now working on her manifesto or NIPs (Nipples' Inspired Policies).
She'll immediately train a bunch of sharks to attack the migrants' dinghies just off the French coast, blasting a warning in the form of the Jaws music played at full volume.
Her major road traffic initiative will be to scrap maximum speeds, replacing them with a minimum speed. If someone goes too slow, driving below the stated minimum speed, then it's three times and you're off - permanently. (Mrs WLYC loves that one, having little to no tolerance for "women drivers" or other dodderers.)
There were many better suggestions, but too much to describe here.

“Real world” “main stream media” classic phrases from your favourite rabbit hole. And what rabbit hole would that be then ? Actually that was an ill judged remark as I don’t believe you have gone down an online rabbit hole I just think you have some misguided ideas. Can you however tell me why you live in the ‘real world’ but you think I don’t. I’d be interested in how you would define what the real world is.
