Nice to see Jordan on form on Saturday, a MOTM contender IMO. He's not had the best spell of late, but was excellent in the second half against Newport. Very good player on his day, just needs to add some consistency to his performances. The arrivals of Gordon and McCalmont, as well as the return of Patrick, will give him some much needed competition - something which had perhaps been lost with the injury to Charters and the end of Hilton's loan. Can he push on from here and make that starting berth his own?

I think he gets a little bit of undue stick at times, particularly from people suggesting he doesn't work hard. We've seen before he's more than capable of doing the hard yards - I'd actually say that's one of his big strengths, his ability to get back and nick the ball off a player. What he's definitely been lacking for a couple of months now is confidence. Definitely saw signs of that returning on Sat.

One of our most disappointing players this season, given what he's sometimes capable of.
There's no reason why his confidence should be low as Simpson has kept faith in him despite his awful form.
Has a tendency to overplay and lose possession and all too often his contribution this term has been entirely uninfluential.
Despite his improvement on Saturday, I'm still struggling to see justification for handing him the shirt ahead of Devitt or McCalmont.

I don't dispute that Gibson has been inconsistent this season, and has had more than his fair share of off days. But he's one of our most creative players, and a valuable outlet. His decision making in possession can be questionable at times, choosing to try and carry the ball for too long etc. There have been times when he probably should have been dropped - and indeed, he was out of the side until Taylor Charters' injury. But he's still capable of creating something from nowhere, and he gives defenders problems. Personally thought he was decent against Bradford at home, though he most certainly should have scored, and probably would have against anybody else. I think he'll start on Saturday, and hopefully he and Senior can play their parts and prove their detractors wrong.

He rightly gets stick for not working hard, didn't manage to see the game on Saturday but in just the 2 minutes highlights on youtube there were three times where him being lazy led to them having a chance to score, against a better team that costs you

He just needs to start hitting the back of the net to get his confidence back he's been a bit unlucky on that side of his game, which has affected his overall confidence. We've a good bunch of players and our league position proves that although we really could be comfortable in the top three given some of the results we should have had. I do wish some folk would stop the negative comments on some players if it was down to some Mellish would have been shown the door when he first came to the club, before he settled and found his mojo, he's now virtually irreplaceable.

Definitely a skilful and talented player, as mentioned above his decision making recently has been the weakest part of his game. On occasions this year he has at times looks uninterested. When he is playing wide he seems happiest and I think gives the team more options. I would even try him at RWB, as he doesn't mind a tackle (when his head is right) and can cut inside with his pace, possible cover for Senior until Ellis and Back are available.

He's been guilty of slowing our play down far too much by taking too many touches. Many counter-attacks have dissipated when he's gained possession of the ball.

That’s an impressively bullshit stat, even by 2023 standards! Define “big chance”, and how many has Gibson created? Just the 1 looking at that.

Got to admit, it's a little vague. Gibson has been one of our best creative outlets though - second only to Moxon, I expect.

Moxon is easily our most creative player and is credited with 14 assists on another statistics site. Gibson is equal second with Armer on 6 assists. I know Gibson can be erratic but I think he offers more creativity than most and he'd be in my line up for Sutton and any future play off games.

I like Jordan, he is different to most players in our present squad in that he can carry the ball forward and beat players. These type of players by their very nature can lose the ball when trying to be positive instead of always going for the safe option, and consequently receive stick from some elements of the support when things don't come off. Whilst he has been a little inconsistent and his final ball lacking at times I think he has been unfortunate not to get more minutes this season. He has also been unlucky not to get more goals, as he does get in good positions and get his shots off - maybe if some of those had gone in it would have improved his confidence. I have never doubted his work rate as he does always seem to put in a good shift no matter what position he is asked to play. The fact that he has played in a number of different roles should be taken into account when assessing his performance this season. I personally prefer him wide right, but with license to cut inside and counter quickly when given the chance, and I too would play him in the remaining matches.
