Guy's been our best midfielder all season so far (including October) by a country mile. Whether Gibson would be a better "wing-back" than Back is an interesting question. At wing-back I'd say probably yes, at full-back probably not. Isn't it the manager's job to get the best out of the players? If "performance is all down to the players", why even have a manager at all? Any time Gibson has played wing/full back it’s hasn’t really worked.

Also, in fairness, Back's performances at WB/FB haven't really worked this season either.

Is Simno the brother of Simyes? Nobody is suggesting the manager has control over the players as if he was playing a computer game. That's a ridiculous assertion, clearly. However, it's not unreasonable to say the manager is responsible for the general level of performance of the players. It's ultimately his responsibility to bring the best out of them. If one player lost a bit of form, you'd maybe put it down to individual circumstances. However when many players lose their form at the same time, this kind of collective downturn is less easy to rationalise by just blaming the players. Edit: As for Moxon's set pieces. Has our preparation, practice, work on the training pitch changed from last season? Are we playing better teams who can defend better? Has Moxon's ego been inflated by his agent and talk of cold hard cash? Ultimately the questions you have to ask are: could Simpson have managed the situation better? Why isn't Paul Gerrard still at the club? Could contract talks have been managed better? Was airing the dirty linen in public wise? Should a player in transfer limbo be the creative hub of our team? Multiple factors at play, but has Simpson done the best job in this instance? You know all the inner workings of Carlisle Utd, it never ceases to amaze me but your finger is always on the pulse, there is nothing you are not an expert or even wrong about. Anyway ,Simmo out it is then. So much easier than an endless back and forth, with the questions changing by a miniscule amount every post.

Nope. I don't know "all the inner workings" hence the questions in the above post, not statements.
Do you understand the difference between a question and a statement? Typically a question will have a question mark at the end, a symbol which looks roughly like this: - "?"
I'm not saying and have never said "Simmo out", don't be ridiculous.
It's typical of the more challenged elements on here to take any criticism, magnify it, take it to the extreme and wave it about out of context to try (extremely poorly) to prove some sort of point.
To the Happy Clappers, any criticism of Simpson at all in the slightest means they start foaming at the mouth and claiming you're automatically calling for his head. This is a hilarious counter, frankly.
Simpson is not perfect, who is? We're 21st in the table with a squad which (according to Simpson himself) is good enough to stay up. Has his performance as a manager been perfect this season? Clearly not. Should we sack him? Absolutely not. Should we be allowed to make objective criticism of his performance? Why wouldn't you?

Well deserved IMO. He's been one of our few successes so far this season.

Well done Gibbo. Let's hope getting him on a new contract is a priority once the Piataks complete the takeover.

I was always intrigued by the goings on with the Brazilian player Hulk.
Sounded like someone owned his registration and traded him like a prostitute - played for some unfashionable clubs in numerous countries on big money.

Part-ownership of players in South America is the norm. Many agents have a bigger percentage than the club's and they can be owned by more than one agent at a time.
Needless to say their interests are to themselves instead of their clients.

Weren`t FIFA on about clamping down on 3rd party ownership of players in South America ? Did they ever do a thing ?!
Most of the top players, were/are owned by the cartels, it was an easy money maker, and they`d get their "fixers" in Europe, to drum up interest, and before you know it, they get a big money move for £100m, and a chunk of it goes to the owners, without any worryies of anyone checking up on where they money eventually ended up.
That aside, I hope Gibson is in line for a new deal, he`s adapted well to the step up, and hope he can keep improving.

Gibson's one of the squad who has previous Division Three experience (with Bradford) so that's got to have helped.
