Like Big Tom says, the January signings will prove to be excellent in the long run. Ship out a load of dead wood and bad eggs in the summer, we will have a pick of a bigger pool of players to choose from. No need to be throwing transfer fees about either, there will be plenty good players out of contract to sign up.
All these clowns on here and Twitter bitching about who said what about budgets…ffs bet they’re all sad single men!

I always thought when the supporters significantly stop attending that is the time when Tom will make the changes ,unbelievably the support although dropped is still at a good level.. Simmo is a vey fortunate manager, the loyalty of the support and the backing of the owner considering what has been served up on the pitch.

Not excusing the poor recruitment in January , but presumably it’s a lot easier to recruit over the summer, so reasonable hope that we will make a better fist of it. Would be great if we could get shot of a couple of the duff signings, but I don’t suppose their will be a long queue of clubs rushing to sign them. In principle it shouldn't be difficult to get rid of anyone. If Yeovil want Harris and offer £500 a week, and we're paying £2k will he go?Yes if he fancies a move to Somerset, first team football and we pay £1.5k a week for a year. The financial cost of unloading McCalmont and Robinson should be much less as their wages, I would think, will be less. The only issue will be if absolutely no one wants a player.

Harris is on an ok deal, Mccalmont is on a bit more than Harris.

We watched Harris 6 times, signed him for an estimated 50k and launched him as our number 1 target. McCalmont was here and was only offered a deal after some period of time. If anyone else was interested I didn't see it anywhere. Why wouldn't Harris be one of our top earners, at least at 31/12/23?
I imagine the January signings are on more than everyone else, probably one of the causes of Gibsons dissatisfaction

Mccalmont was signed on the 27th of June and was an early target. Definitely on a bit more than Harris Very poor logic Marko.

The money we offered will have been based on how badly we wanted him. When barclay, McCalmont and Robinson joined they got the fanfare normally reserved for the return of mild ringworm. Harris was being touted as the player we were missing, winning the ball high up the pitch. Greg was on the park with him grinning across his chins. We needed to persuade aldershot and Harris that he should move all the way down to Carlisle, that costs money. McCalmonts option was unemployment.
I would not be surprised to find that Harris is on as much as Robinson and McCalmont together. If he's on buttons, why come? And why would aldershot release a first team regular?

Marko , I've given you enough time to backaway.] Mccalmont is a bit more than Harris , he did have other options . Harris was signed as stated in the interview with a view to develop . Harris is rumoured to be in just over 1k and Mccalmont is around 2k

A good indicator would be where they came from aswell. I’d imagine a signing from Leeds with international caps would command a bigger wage than someone from non-league. Gibson was dissatisfied, and Simpson dissatisfied with Gibson, before the January window even opened. There’d already been a fallout prior to the big fallout on Boxing Day at Fleetwood.

Harris is rumoured to be in just over 1k and Mccalmont is around 2k You've just completely made all of that up! Just another I know from a source bollocks. Do you people never learn? From the Daily Mirror , average weekly wage bills in the 4th division. This figure significantly surpassed the league average of about £58,000. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ryan-reynolds-wrexham-wages-salary-32635391The average salary in the 4th division for a first team player is over 2k a week but a player, I imagine playing well in the first team in the conference, is going to accept half the going rate. Come and join us Jayden to develop, we've 1 coach, training pitches that are registered RSPB marshlands and a manager that plays a style of putting the ball 40 feet over your head, Rubbish, he'll just wait until someone else offers him more if it's not up to expectations. While Frank is correct that McCalmont was probably on a good wage at Leeds, they'll keep paying a good chunk of it until his contract with them expired. The same as we'll have to do when we dump Harris.
