I guess it's a philosophy thing. I comment on football finance because I worked in football finance. I don't comment on training grounds because I don't know anything about planning processes. Happy to read about it to learn but what can I say? For the football I always write 'in my opinion', or I think because it's an opinion and my opinion is no more or less important than anyone else's. Its not a fact. Unfortunately, there is a small handful of people who infest every thread. They have no appreciable skills or knowledge, so they can't have a discussion. They just retreat into you're an idiot, you never worked there, did that, because it's all they can do. If you have no understanding, there can be no point of reference. All you can do is learn from it. The people on here might be unskilled nothings, but we come across people whose sole skill is screaming like the loudest toddler all the time in life. And sometimes they have power. So watch how arguments are formed, how words are twisted, and use it, turn what seems like an unpleasant negative into a positive. Psychology 101, invaluable tool. Edited to say I think others are jealous I have my own creepy stalkers who follow me from thread to thread. They might be dumb and rude but leave my boys alone! Don't want them following anyone else Just some freaks on here. I don't know what the issue is with the Internet these days, but I don't think people know how to have a debate now... I appreciate your position, although I imagine any position being created within the club currently is because of a burning need for it. Think we've been understaffed for years rather than the other way round, which is why we're so far behind. I have to admit I have been a bit rude of late.

Back to the goalkeeper keeping situation, would probably be nice to see an older pro join in a dual capacity as a third choice keeper this wound allow us to loan out Breeze while still having cover.

Where do you begin? Entitlement. Deflecting their inadequacies. Cowardly behaviour which they wouldn't repeat face to face. Lazy mindedness. No respect. Poor parenting. Lousy teachers. The lack of being with nature outdoors. That's a start.

I would say they've been ahead of us in terms of organisation for some time. Previously I think we've just muddled through with people like Steve Patt sorting out repairs when needed. The Piataks are putting the club on a more professional level than we've been used to.

We were close to a National League setup behind the scenes last year, somehow in L1 thanks to the manager and players putting in a hell of a shift! Hopefully we can catch up with some ruthless action behind the scenes, but we'll see.

Social media and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. My generation is a mess, and I don't think the older generation have taken to it well either personally. But no need to rant in here. Hope the new changes we're bringing in are solid.

All of those things and then some as you rightly say, the internet has created a different type of person than how I grew up in the 60s for sure. We have the self obsessed about their looks, mainly but not completely female dominated, and as a result in my opinion a more narcisstic generation in some cases who have an opinion about everything, often with little experince or knowledge to base it on. News by the second is at our finger tips and the cost to mental health has been staggering although it is good we are now open about it, I am not fully convinced that it is as widespread as we are told. As a kid brought up in a different century, in so many ways it is hard to reconcile the two periods of time in anyway, I feel I had a better childhood than so many now sadly, out nearly all of the time, building dens, climbing trees and so many other things, so for me the internet has put so many disadvantages in the way of what being a kid used to be.

Kickergold: "I don't know what the issue is with the Internet these days, but I don't think people know how to have a debate now..." Where do you begin? Entitlement. Deflecting their inadequacies. Cowardly behaviour which they wouldn't repeat face to face. Lazy mindedness. No respect. Poor parenting. Lousy teachers. The lack of being with nature outdoors. That's a start. I believe its more to do with the instantaneous nature of information & contact. When I was a teenager at the start of the 80s we would go to the pub on a Saturday, on our way out, see you next week same time, see you on Tuesday at Dens Park. And people turned up with no fuss or drama. Now, trying to meet people for lunch is like organising the SALT talks. Everything is immediate on phones. The club advertises a job for a (lets call it business analyst). Immediately people who support the actions of the club, anyone who doesn't support this is a weirdo. No doubt when Tim gets up he'll come flying on saying it's the end of the club as we know it. But everyone is confident not only that they are right but a wee search in google for 30 seconds will provide the proof they are correct. So lets just chuck in a smidgen of moral superiority because I was right all along eh? How many people asked questions like who is it aimed at? Salary? What are the actual tasks, not just helping with the 100 mysterious projects that no one can identify. No thought goes into any of this any more. Its the same with forecasting. Jones earns 100k a year so we can assume Harris earns 100k a year. But you can't prove that so its rubbish! But you have to use the information you have to make a decision. People don't do that anymore. They can justify anything with Google. Where do you begin? Entitlement. Deflecting their inadequacies. Cowardly behaviour which they wouldn't repeat face to face. Lazy mindedness. No respect. These are symptoms. When people don't get what they expected they revert to human nature, and they didn't get what they expected because they didn't think hard enough.
