Seems like an opportune moment to open this thread.
Qualifying for next year's Euros is underway, and England got off to a cracking start tonight! An away win over reigning champions Italy may not settle the score after the Wembley shootout heartbreak, but it's a statement of intent.

Excellent first half and should have been at least 3 up. What the hell does Southgate tell them at half time. That second half was terrible and is exactly why we will never win a tournament with him as manager. Midfield sat far too deep inviting a very poor Italian side onto us. Timewasting even after the card happy referee had shown he was going to book us for it. Making sustitutions far too late (reactive instead of proactive). And how does Maguire get in the squad never mind the team - responsible for giving yet another goal away. Congratulations to Harry Kane, thought he was brilliant tonight. As were Rice, Bellingham and Saka in the first half before Southgate applied the hand brake. Still as Moonie quite rightly says, it is a massive 3 points in what should be our most difficult game of the qualifying campaign.

How many penalties make up the goals has scored? 18 (Just checked)
I bet it's a hell of a lot more than the others.

Another for Kane as England enjoy a very comfortable 2-0 win over Ukraine.

A fairly straightforward 3 points, but yet another turgid second half. Southgate must tell them to slow things down and whatever you do, do not pass the ball in a forward direction. We always look far better when moving the ball quickly. Great to see Maddison finally get a game, hopefully he did did enough to keep his place. Saka especially and Bellingham played well

The shocking thing for me here is Abbott actually giving Madden 14 minutes as a striker, he must've been all giddy in a visit to the capital or something.

I think it says more about Spain's tactical approach than it does Scotland's quality.
They're probably the most boring team to watch in the history of football.

Only Scotland would need an Englishman to bury two goals to beat Spain who are a pale shadow of their former side.

That makes him English by birth. One thing I wil give you though is that he looks 100% Scotch. I'm presuming his Father is the skirt wearer.

His father is Scottish so he has every right to play for Scotland and stated that it was always his preference. Shame you had to stoop low with the skirt wearing comment.
