Harry Kane earns a penalty a minute after the restart, which he then scores for his 50th competitive goal in an England shirt.

Very poor decision after a VAR check hands us a second penalty which Callum Wilson dispatches. 4-0.

What an absolute bore fest. Carlisle would have beaten Malta (their best player plays for Notts County ffs) and would have done it by making a fraction of the backward and sideways passing England did! In fact they would have beaten them in their flip flops. I have absolutely no idea why anybody would line up with 8 defensively minded players against a team as limited as Malta. What he is doing with the current crop of exciting talent should be a criminal offence and is certainly more serious than Boris's little soiree. Southgate out.

These games are ones which nobody wants to play in, they’re planned ridiculously by UEFA. The majority of players have either been finished for 3 weeks and been away on holiday or been partying for the last week. You won’t get a more professional performance from England tbh, to have the match won after half an hour is testament to the current set-up and it was just a case of seeing the game out for the final hour. To find fault with last night is staggering! Strange also to consider TAA as ‘defensively minded’ when for years the main criticism levelled against him is that he’s too attack minded!! Suppose it’s depends what fits your narrative. Rice was also far more advanced than I’ve ever seen him, he seemed to spend the majority of the first half on the edge of the opposition box.

dstander, I presume you are joking. If not you are very easily pleased. My only narrative is that they are professional footballers playing in what some say is the most competitive league in the world and yet they couldn't keep the ball or create any worthwhile chances against a team who would struggle to beat Workington. I presume you must be the current holder of the happy clapper of the year.

dstander, if you are not joking I can only assume that you didn't actually watch the match and are only going by the usual media hyperbole as they now seem to think TAA is the next Messi.

I watched the match and an easy observation to make is that TAA wasn’t the least bit defensively minded. No idea what your reference to Messi is all about. The top and bottom of it is Friday was a game which virtually nobody wanted to be playing in given a long season finished ages ago for the majority of the starting line-up, yet they still had the game won after half an hour, a professional performance. Yet you want the manager sacked!

He's from Preston, Lancashire not Lanarkshire. That makes him English by birth. One thing I wil give you though is that he looks 100% Scotch. I'm presuming his Father is the skirt wearer. His father is Scottish so he has every right to play for Scotland and stated that it was always his preference. Shame you had to stoop low with the skirt wearing comment. Also Scots… amazing since how far is Workington from Scotland? A few 100 yards across the Solway Firth? Anyone from Workington is more Scots or Scottish than they are with their Posh Angle Cousins 300 miles to the South You should go to the pre season Annan friendly with your Scotch and skirt wearing comments and see how far you get… 😂😂😂😂😂
