After young Breeze's debut today, looks like he's got a better chance of being here next year than Holy.

Wigan might be a bit much too soon for Breeze though. I can see them creating a hell of a lot more chances than Fleetwood today.

Lenny Pidgley Steve Compton Kevin Rose Andersson Ben Williams Anthony Williams Martin Burleigh Kevin Carr Tom Clarke Scott Endersby Tony Harrison Jason Priestley Peter Keen Greg Fleming Van Dee Kwak Shamal George Dan Hanford Jimmy Glass Barry Siddall Mark Prudhoe Some on this list must have been so bad that I've thankfully erased them from my memory. I notice that John Blott the rapist hasn't made it onto the list. He played in the televised match at Man City but I don't recall any of his other games. Was he any good as a keeper?

Holy didn’t become a bad goalkeeper overnight one of the reasons we got promoted His loss of form seems to be since the change in goalkeeping coaches True, he was never a good one.

Might be wrong but wasn’t that Blott’s only game? Scott Endersby was a decent keeper as said above, unfortunately his most famous moment was being involved in the infamous Jim Tolmie own goal. Don’t remember Prudhoe being a bad keeper either, he just played in some really poor sides. Interesting list though.

Scott Endersby played well in his first season under Stokoe. He was terrible the following season playing at a lower level. I didn’t think Mark Prudhoe was that bad, he should be replaced by the keeper who played at Ilkeston (Thompson?)

Jimmy Glass was a better keeper for us than he was given credit for.
His display of shot stopping in our 0-0 draw away at Hartlepool was excellent.
And in keeper terms, he didn't do a lot wrong.

Are you joking? He didn't play that many games for us, but, good grief, he was one of only two goalkeepers to play for us in the old First Division. How many of our goalkeepers since then have been anywhere near good enough to be considered even for half a second for top-flight football? Comparing playing in the top division with the third and fourth divisions? Really?

Siddall wasn't bad and I thought it a little harsh to include Burleigh. Clarke didn't get much of an opportunity because of Ross but still had experience at a higher level than most of them listed.

I put Barry Siddall up when he played for us as i knew him thru Mike Grahams days at Bolton i was running the County Hotel as was in Kendal at the time. Couple of years back i booked him to come at coach the keepers at a junior club i was helping run when he recognised me he took his petrol money and donated the rest of his fee back to the club A nice guy and a good bloke

Good lad, last saw h8m in the players bar after he'd scored a cracker from diastance, mid to late eighties away, possibly Northampton or Peterborough. Also remember Halpy hobbling around the bar on crutches that day.

I always thought the fans were very harsh on Mike Graham and I didn’t think he was that bad!

One thing the modern keeper couldn't compete with is in the Ross era no goalkeepers used cricket batting gloves it was mostly bare hands (sometimes wool gloves but I think that was more to keep hands warm)
The second area they couldn't compete is coming out and catching crosses. The modern keeper doesn't appear to do that it's like ice hockey coaches coach them to stay on their line...
