Lovely lad, a character and one who liked to whip the crowd up but didn’t Simeu??!! A solid lower league GK, prone to a mistake but also capable of good saves(Wembley), distribution poor with too much back spin on the ball or height, but I also always thought he had movement issues due to his size, he would always be stretching or resting on his knees and the constant bawling and hyping up the crowd maybe upset his mind set( look at Pickford? ) Once 1-2 mistakes set in, his mindset was shot, Lewis is better and so will be Breeze

Holy was a poor keeper, little confidence and poor agility - he actually failed the agility test on signing! The big mistake wasn’t dropping him, it was failing to replace him with anything better. God forbid a player fails an agility test and then goes on to break our clean sheet record. Holy has his flaws with every other keeper at this level and league one, his strengths are much more suited to League Two where it’s a lot more reliant on set pieces and crosses into the box, much more suited to it than Lewis anyways, he deserves to go somewhere to be first choice and we need a keeper coach in that needs to drill it into Lewis that he’s capable of coming for crosses or it’s going to be a repeat of this season with regards to our defending on set pieces. A keeper failing an agility to test is virtually unheard of, pretty alarming in fact. He didn’t have any strengths, coming for crosses certainly wasn’t one of them, he only decided to start doing it in the play-offs! We broke the clean sheet record despite Holy, not because of him. Attributing clean sheets to a keeper is total nonsense.

Holy made a big contribution in the 22/23 season, particularly during the period when we were struggling and coming under a lot of pressure. His ability to command the area was vital during that time. I’m sure he will always be welcome back and the club and being back happy memories. As an ageing fan, the scenario that played out at the end of last season doesn’t happen very often and will live long in the memory. This has got to be a wind-up! Probably the biggest flaw in his game, for a big man he had little presence, didn’t command his area and was hugely indecisive - and that’s coming from his ex-goalkeeping coach!

We broke the clean sheet record and it had nothing to do with the goalkeeper. Right. Strange lot these Sunderland fans.

He underwent an agility test? He's just told us on video he was interviewed over Skype, it was because he was in the Czech Republic. Simpson watched him jump round his living room?
The club doctor stripped off and put in a few crosses?
No wonder he failed the test. You would have thought they assessed his agility when they scouted him. How did Lewis get on? Illinois agility tests are applied to all players not just goalies, how did Harrison Neal get on? How do you know this? Or can't you say?

Colin lewin the arsenal head of medical did a really good interview with the medium. And he was on undr the cosh. If you Google tribuna. Com then Colin lewin, you'll see it. Fans, me included, believe that a medical is what the name implies, a physical check. But it's not. 99% is a document check on previous medical checks. The purpose is to express an opinion on the risk of signing a player. If the transfer fee is £0, then the risk must be £0 so basically nothing happens and the player passes.
Perhaps if it was more rigorous and actually included agility tests we wouldn't pass fit players like kayode. The wages, lost squad places and frustration still has a value

I’d give a genuine reply to this but that’s an absolute load of nonsense, how many clean sheets would we have got last season with a goalkeeper that didn’t resemble the apparent tree we had in goals that did nothing?

I was so happy to be wrong, when doubting his penalty saving abilities, at Wembley !
Thank you Tomas, and good luck, wherever you land !

Still intrigued by this notion of medicals. Tomas signed by Skype, so clearly bugger all happened. This guy is saying at Premier league level it's more rigorous
My phone won't cut and paste. Google thefootballphysio.co.uk what happens during a football players medical. Putting the two together it's difficult to see what they did with kayode. There can't have been any tests at all carried out, he's free so we'll take him. Same with kelly. Brilliant. Maybe an area to work on?

We often outsource them and don't do them I'm house as we didn't /don't have the facilities. So likely wound have went to a local centre. Hopefully with new facility go in house Nice little video which people may prefer to watch about them .

What have we told you about your assumptions?!! You’ve wrongly assumed he failed it before signing, when in fact it’s a test all the players do during pre-season. You didn’t think he was still in his living room during pre-season do you?

The big mistake wasn’t dropping him, it was failing to replace him with anything better. he actually failed the agility test on signing - you wrote, so not on signing, but after signing? The assumption you can write was a schoolboy error I should never have made! Jesus, again, doh, point taken. You haven't actually given a date so will we just make it +/- a couple of years to cover all bases? Its bollocks anyway, so what difference does it make? My other assumption was that you are off in the land of Narnia porkies again and the point of the post was to get you to repeat the assertion that you have access to the players' medical/training records. Something I do not believe for one second. So come on then, let's be having it, how do you get access to the players' training/medical records? And if you have access to their training/medical records, how did we sign Kayode and Maguire when they were both carrying long term injuries when they arrived? Superbluefrank, investigative journalist, the Board's Roger Cook, Gibson's fisticuffs, wrong. Emmanuel's contract, wrong and now medical scandal at Brunton Park.... Come on Frank, more info, we await excitedly!! Just for the record, I agree with your unsupported opinion, Holy was mince. Blackpool away, Cheltenham home, never put us through that again. Awful

Whatever his flaws he never let 2/3 goals in every game.

Has any goalkeeper we’ve had conceded 2/3 goals in every game?
