Holy will find a club no prob. A lot of league 2 teams will be looking at that 19 clean sheets last year. He will also have the last laugh when Lewis carries his form into league 2 and Simpson is relieved of his duties.

Its quite sad to watch this back. He had a bad season. We came in. We'd scouted him. He spoke to Simpson over skype in May and he was offered the post. Post season, so no trials, nothing, his agent negotiated the contract and he signed it. So excited to get a 2-year contract so easily, then it all fell apart.

Holy made a big contribution in the 22/23 season, particularly during the period when we were struggling and coming under a lot of pressure. His ability to command the area was vital during that time. I’m sure he will always be welcome back and the club and being back happy memories. As an ageing fan, the scenario that played out at the end of last season doesn’t happen very often and will live long in the memory.

I know they say that there is no time for sentimentality in football but for his recent heroics Holy was treated badly really.
Always came across as a model professional so quite harsh that he was given the battering he got off Simmo when others can go out on the piss and still get played.
A strange season this and I am sure that the stories of what happened behind the scenes will come out once the players filter out of the club.
All the best Tomas and thank you.

Been dropped that first time was the catalyst for it all going wrong. When he got his second chance it was obvious his mindset was not right. Maybe with a different keeper coach he would have been prepared better but I think if Simmo had kept faith instead of dropping him 1st time he would probably have played the full season.

He seemed like a great guy. Unfortunately he wasn't a great goalkeeper imo. That goal against Cheltenham, jesus. Blackpool, away. Sad fact, not good enough. I wish him all the best, hope he turns it around and has a great career

But to me that has nothing to do with ability and completely down to the fact he was not in the right mindset for whatever reason.

That's my opinion too. His confidence was shot and he became a clanger awaiting to happen. He'll hopefully make a fresh start somewhere else and get his career back on track.

Personally I would rather have had one of the Clangers in goal. He was awful.

Holy had no chance of returning to the side once Lewis was signed as the latter demanded that he'd play every game before signing. This is from the Horse's mouth.

He's really not, give Lewis a defence in front of him like Holy had last year and he'd show he is a far better Keeper. Lewis has made the odd mistake since he came in but none that have actually cost us points, Holy and the clown from Reading both cost us games and critical points. Lewis on the other hand has actually kept games far tighter that they might otherwise have been Good luck to Thomas and hope he gets sorted out quickly, great memories from last season and in time will be remembered for the Wembley saves not the calamity he was in League 1 Forgot we lost that game 1 - 0 due to the error. If we're including games with mistakes for any of the goals then Holy's count can include a number of other games as well By the time Lewis came in Huntingdon and Guy who have contributed to making us much more solid were both largely out of the team. You had Lavelle who lost all confidence once he was made captain and an ever changing line up in front of him all of which contributed to the poor end to the season Last season Lewis conceded 6 fewer goals and had one less clean sheet from 1 game less at Bradford, put him behind a decent defence and he will be more than ok
