Serious points deductions (at the least) are the only way this financial irregularity nonsense, at all levels, comes to an end. I've no idea why a transfer embargo (for the SECOND time) doesn't carry a points consequence.

Anyone with knowledge on either Reading or Wigan know much about their likely squads this season? What can we expect from them in terms of league position?

Any chance of signing Jamie McGrath ? Might be worth a punt, if Butterworth is going to be used to play off Edmondson and Garner we could do with an additional wide man.

Wigan will be fine They have a plan and will be using a lot of loan players this season with the aim of being rid of just about anybody who was there before this season with what looks like a plan to reduce the level of wages they pay which has gone mad over the last few years with short term and absentee owners various managers have been allowed to sign average players on stupid wages. And i think letting players know they were in a position to cancel their contracts after what went on last season was all a part of it. Last January Accy tried to loan a player from them who couldnt get in the first team and his wages were higher than anyone on Accys payroll and even the contribution they were asked to make would have put him in the top 5 of their wage bill. Needlass to say the deal didnt go ahead The new guy whos bought them has has his head screwed on and seems to know what hes doing after years of running Wigan RL. My bet is they will be happy to finnish lower mid table if they have a good go at sorting the issues out. Reading on the other hand are a total basket case where anything could happen but the rumour is the new manager is gonna take a load of Southampton fringe players that are surplus to requirements there following their relagation on loan but at the minute the league wont even sanction that because of their issues with the ffp

Another punishment today for Reading due to financial irregularities. They're now on minus 1 point and bottom of League 1.

It was a three point deduction, they are 21st on 2 points But isnt the good news that if they do it again within 12 months of the first offence a punishment that ensures relegation is the result ?
