It's a shame for the fans of any club if due to the incompetence of the owner they get points deducted, but as any fine placed on them is ignored, it's the only way to punish the owner, by eventually reducing the value of the club and forcing a sale on them. I'm sure the Reading fans would accept a greater points reduction confirming relegation so long as it got rid of Dai.

Nonsense ruling. Utter nonsense. Who reimburses Port Vale and their fans the travel costs? It also gives Reading the chance to benefit and pick up three points. Port Vale should be awarded a 3-0 win. Reading should be docked three points and forced to play a game at home with only away fans admitted. This "punishment" takes the piss.

Reading should be forfeiting that. I'd be fuming if I were a Port Vale fan.

Football fans have a strange set of morals at times. Clubs like Reading get In financial shit, masses of sympathy for fans, who just want to support their club, so it’s said. Nobody ever complains about dodgy owners when doing well. Club is in crisis, Vale game abandoned, the right thing to do , it’s said because some things are more important than one result. Fast forward a few days and they are roaring their team to victory against Derby. Reading fan on the radio last night saying how it’s important that they get behind the team now and focus on staying up. So it seems the results suddenly do matter again. Now they have a crucial replay against Port Vale which could well be the difference between staying up or not. Clubs like Carlisle get.zero sympathy from other fans cos we are ‘tinpot’ and are shit etc, even though we have suffered through lack of investment, whilst boom and bust tactics have seen many clubs have much better times. What a fucked up set of shit.

Trying to work out whether or not I'd have any sympathy for them if they weren't the most pointless and boring football club in the country.

No matter what your feelings towards any particular club are no genuine fan deserves owners of this calibre..generations of history ruined by ego driven rivets who just crawl back to where they came from leaving the fans usually to try and pick up the pieces God knows we've had a close call or two..

The FA have shown disrespect for the travelling Port Vale fans here and Reading fans are a bit false too in changing their stance on a whim.
Rules for this sort of thing should be set out for all to see, you break them and you pay the consequences -whoever you are, when it goes to committees and the likes it can get fudged.
I don't think The Premier League dare touch Manchester City as if it takes points off them and another team won the league then that season would be tarnished and they would not be respected as true champions if Man City would have caught the leaders if it wasn't for the deduction.
They don't care about a team flirting with relegation like Everton.

Will he won't he;
A Reading director has revealed that former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has 'not revisited' a potential takeover.
The Sports Direct founder, born and raised in nearby Buckinghamshire, got tongues wagging in November when his branded helicopter landed in the car park at the SCL Stadium

Seemingly about to be hit with another points deduction due to HMRC issues, not that it helps us now

Seemingly about to be hit with another points deduction due to HMRC issues, not that it helps us now Long overdue. They should be hit hard, sufficient for relegation. Dreadful ownership.

Surely we can lend a helping hand by taking some of their players off their payroll? And not captain catastrophe who we've already got. God they owe us for that

We can't call anyone else "the league one basket case".
That club is us.
