The one thing I have noticed is that the defence looked like they were more comfortable with him behind them than the recent version of Holy when they were waiting for a mistake to happen so put their game on edge. Having a calm and composed keeper behind you makes a huge difference. As well as the horrendous errors Holy has made recently his body language has been awful, over hyped at times and that filers into the rest of the team. Think I mentioned about his kicking vs Cheltenham, just completely lacked any intelligence whatsoever, was kicking high into the wind and hard with the wind. Every time turning over possession. Although Gabe has not had to make lots of saves he should be given tremendous credit for how he given a bit of stability when we where at a real point of desperation.

He’s done alright but hasn’t actually had that much to do in the 3 games. What he has done he’s mostly done well.
The double save today was good, but the goal was disappointing. If he wasn’t a local lad or his name was Tomas Holy, he’d be getting absolutely filleted for conceding that goal.

He had absolutely no chance saving their goal today, it was low down and at 'point blank', with (I think) a defender in his way. The lads done great!!

Thought that at the time, but having seen it again it would have taken a cracking save to keep it out. Not saying it was unstoppable, but it was hard and low, and in all honesty I'm inclined to agree with Piglet (I think), who mentioned in the match thread that the defence had switched off. Should he have done better? Maybe, but it's certainly not on the level of Holy or Andresson's errors this season.

No it’s not an absolute howler, but he should save it in my opinion. It was pretty much straight at him.

It was a really well struck shot from not far out and our defence was in a state of complete chaos at this point. It's not child's play to get down to that sort of finish especially when you have a crowd of players in front of you. It's all about opinions, but to call it "an absolute howler" shows a massive lack of judgement, in my view.

Watched it on the highlights and would agree, it's not a gift like the Holy ones vs Cheltenham and Northampton and it's not rash like some of Andressons bad decision making earlier in the season. But he will be disappointed to have let that go in imo. Still taking all the circumstances into account I think to have conceded just 1 goal in 3 that he would be disappointed with is very good for a very young and completely inexperienced keeper. He should be very proud of himself for how under immense pressure, he's been able to keep a calm head and more than do a job for the team when we have been in a really difficult situation.

Unless they’re getting an outstanding replacement why not keep him in the team. Four points from nine since he came in isn’t bad. If he’s good enough he’s old enough!

He’s not had a lot to do but what he has done has been good and he hasn’t managed to gift a goal to the opposition in the little he has done, so it’s a positive.
I’m not impressed by his ‘double save’ though, he should have dealt with the first bit better so he had to pull out the second one to save himself.

I disagree it's a low powerful shot, he tries to hold that and it may spill Infront , he pushed It too the side , which gave a hard angle to finish from and was quick back up to the feet. Think one issue with fans perception of the modern game is they don't realise how bad the new balls are to hold.

Couldn't have asked for much more so far from young Gabe. After the Cheltenham game, a new keeper was a massive priority for January. Still think we need one but i wouldn't be panicking and getting any available keeper, Gabe is showing a real maturity and without doubt has earned his place in the team for now.

The goalkeeping situation is a bit of a mess. We have Holy under contract, an Icelandic keeper on loan possibly to the end of the season. We tried to sign a Scottish keeper but it turned out we couldn’t sign him. I’m sure he would have played ahead of Breeze if we’d signed him. Only as a last resort does Breeze get a chance. Carlisle City have a very promising young keeper (Simons)who I think we would be trying to sign if we hadn’t ditched him last summer. Would our season have been any worse with Breeze and Simons as our two keepers?
