^^^ That was the best one CCU !
Piglet mentioned Lovejoy, in an old thread, but rather than bump it, I`ll bring it up here.
Been after this on ebay for years, but it`s always too expensive. Remember watching it back when it aired, but missed loads of episodes, but finally saw it all the way through, for the first time, about a decade ago, and on UK Drama I think it was.
Phenomenal performance by Ian McShane, so when the next thing I saw him in was Deadwood, it came as something of a shocker.
Or should that be a **** ***ing **** piece of **** licking **** **** ****ing **** shocker ?!

Enjoyed it back in the day, be interesting to see how well it's aged.

Found Get Some in on Youtube, with a pre Citizen Smith, Robert Lindsey, yes its quite dated, but Tony Selby as the sadistic Corporal drill instructor is hilarious.
Bottom, even if just to see the gas man part, cracks me up everytime.
Steptoe and Son, and Dad's Army, are mhy two faves of all time.
A hidden gem for anyone who has never seen it, is The Biederbecke Trilogy, well well worth a try.

Enjoyed it back in the day, be interesting to see how well it's aged. Picked up 3 of the 4 series in a charity shop for next to nothing, about 10 years ago, but had to pay £8 for the other one. Really enjoyed it though, crap sets, dodgy effects, cringey acting, but strangely entertaining. Although if you`ve seen it before then you`ll likely remember how it ends, but that absolutely CRUSHED me as a child, I didn`t want to go to school the next day. I think the chap who played Avon, is the only one who`s still alive, but he had an accident, and lost both his legs. He always wanted to make a follow-up to it, but never got it going, and I think there`s a script out there for it somewhere, he was that serious about it, but doubt it will ever get made now. Unless one of the streaming channels picks up the rights, and we get Brenda`s 7...or more likely - Black 7.

Watched series 1 of the Young One`s last night, first time I`d seen it in years, and it hasn`t aged very well, and although it had some really funny moments, and lines, it was surprisingly bad overall. Series 2 looks better though.
But what did surprise me, were the racial slurs used in some scenes, not a chance they`ll ever get shown on the repeat channels like Gold/Dave etc, or whichever one is currently showing them. They were mostly in scenes involving the police harrassing people, and not directly at black people, but I was still shocked to hear them used, and don`t remember those scenes at all, from watching it previously.
Bottom has aged SO much better.

I remember that scene with the police from repeated viewings like yourself and not originally.
Watched all the Minder episodes and enjoyed them although the quality dipped over the entirety of the show.
Pie In The Sky is a decent watch if just for Richard Griffiths lapsing into sounding like uncle Monty every now and again.
I was thinking about watching Blake's Seven too and I have The Tripods box set to go through which I am hoping has that BBC Radiophonic Workshop sound that the Doctor Who series had at the time, the one that sounded like Linda McCartney throttling her Moog Synthesiser - then I will tackle Dogtanian.
Thinking about it - The Boy From Space was pretty fucked up for its time too.

We were made to read and watch The Boy From Space at Junior School. There was a lad along the road who just looked like him, in fact he still did the last I saw him a couple of years ago.
Dogtanian was class, I didn't watch that much kids tv TBH apart from Jossys Giants but I do remember Ulysses being pretty good and there was one that looked interesting but didn't get round to watching which was The Mysterious Cities of Gold.

Dogtanian and Dungeons & Dragons were probably my 2 favourite cartoons from the 80`s, adore them both, and they sit side by side on my DVD cabinet. And next to them is Starfleet, which I`ve never gotten around to watching.
Well, I adore series 1 of Dogtanian, the 2nd one was utter trash, and nothing like the 1st series.
Did you know they made a film of it, about 4-5 years ago ? It`s called Dogtanian & The Three Muskehounds, and if you haven`t seen it, and loved the original, then it`s worth getting. I did see a copy in my local HMV not long ago, think it was about £7, but it`s available online from a lot of places, so should be easy to get.
I was dreading watching it, and what they might do to change it, but was blown away with it, and had tears in my eyes at the end.
Yes, it`s THAT good !
Ulysses & Mysterious Cities of Gold, are 2 I never watched, but over the years, I`ve heard so many people say how amazing they were and are regarded as 2 of the best childrens cartoons from the 80`s. Will have to check out youtube for Mysterious Cities, and see if someone has uploaded them all, as that`s one I want to watch.

Dogtanian was good fun.I also enjoyed the Wacky Races both as a kid and then again as a student when we had bets on it for pints of beer. I've not seen either of these programmes for many a year. I did recently see When The Boat Comes In which was decent particularly the first two series.

Couple for the oldies on here, The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe and the dubbed classic, The Flashing Blade. On every school holiday in the late 60's and early 70's.

Can`t find the whole of Mysterious Cities on youtube, but did find Godzilla, the animated series, from the early 80`s.
The one with his Son Godzooki, and them cruising around on a boat, and pressing a button to call Godzilla, whenever a monster appeared.

The You tube algorithm brought up old episodes of give us a clue.
Why, I don’t know - but I’m not complaining as it’s hilarious. There’s one episode with Bruce Grobolaar and Spike Milligan funniest thing I’ve seen for ages.

Ulysses was camp trash.
The Mysterious Cities of Gold had a great theme tune and credits but the actual cartoon itself was vanilla and bland.
Neither of them fit to lace the boots of Battle of the Planets.
