I can remember Give us a Clue, but not the premise, might have a look for it later, unless youtube does it for me..
Never watched a single episode of Mysterious Cities, and don`t even know the theme tune. But you might be the first person I`ve ever known, that`s said something that wasn`t a glowing review of it !
Battle of the Planets was in a league of its own, and I`ve been after that boxset for 30 years now, but it`s so bloody expensive ! It sells for over £100 on ebay, and unless I luck into one in a charity shop, I don`t think I`ll ever get it.
But the whole series is available on youtube for free, at least it was last time I looked. I only found out a few years back, that the whole thing was a ripoff of a series called Gatchaman. Apparently it was "too dark" for western audiences and so they just cut the whole series to shreds, inserted their own dialogue, and characters, and created something new.
Would love to get hold of a boxset of Gatchaman, but there doesn`t seem to be a region 2 release of it, so unless I can get a multi-region DVD player, it`s unlikely I`ll ever get to see it, unless someone drops the whole lot on youtube.

Can`t find the whole of Mysterious Cities on youtube, but did find Godzilla, the animated series, from the early 80`s. The one with his Son Godzooki, and them cruising around on a boat, and pressing a button to call Godzilla, whenever a monster appeared. Mysterious Cities Of Gold was one of those foreign animations that seemed to have an endless number of episodes, there were a few of those. Godzooky was Godzilla's nephew, he was shit, the Scrappy Doo of Godzilla. Brock was also shit in that cartoon. Agree with PP that Battle of The Planets was a classic.

Ulysses was camp trash. The Mysterious Cities of Gold had a great theme tune and credits but the actual cartoon itself was vanilla and bland. Neither of them fit to lace the boots of Battle of the Planets. You may recognise the sample used here….

"Try looking back more on days that were slower, When livin' came easy and neighbours were friends"
Hooo yes, managed to track down a copy of Huckleberry Finn and his Friends on DVD - this was worth running home from school to watch.
Huck was really a bit of a stoner thinking about it, carefree and fishing all day.
This to me will always be the definite version.

Did you go to Austin Friars?

The one where they pretended to be drowned and were living on that island eating turtles eggs was amazing. I bet their farts stank.

Camping out on an island in the middle of the Petteril eating badger eggs.

I could be wrong but I am sure that Aunt Polly was in Heidi too.
The BBC did quite well in this era as they had the animated Tarzan show and the Star Trek one on too.

No - it was Holme Head bay and we ate dogs eggs which were in plentiful supply.

I think there were only 39 episodes of the original, but it came back for a reboot, but not sure how many episodes are in that. There were some shows that seemed to go on forever, and some that were a lot shorter than you remember. Have the boxset of all the Thundercats episodes, and there`s about 120+ of them. And recently saw a DVD in a charity shop of the Complete Flumps, with every episode, but checking online, I think there were only ever 13 episodes, yet I remember that being on all the time when I was younger. Godzooky being the Scrappy Doo of Godzilla, is why I never made it past episode 1 on youtube, he`s far too annoying. Does anyone remember a series called Robostory ? It was a foreign cartoon in the 80`s. Might have been French, but it was about this young girl, who was lost on a planet, ruled by robots, and she helped another band of robots, who were being targetted by the main lot. The leader of the evil robots, was always getting told off by his boss, for letting them escape each week, and would tell him.. "You are the lowest of the low"

I have that Flumps DVD but it jumps I think which is a bit crap - I remember the one where a cloud follows the little one around all day, Pootle was it?
Shame that D&D got cancelled before they managed to get home.
Pac Man was a strange cartoon I remember on Roland Rat and for some reason I quite liked the Happy Days cartoon with Cupcake.
I was watching a Tales Of The Unexpected episode and I recognised a woman from it, turns out she was Fred Harris's oppo on Choc A Bloc.

If you didn`t know munchy, there was a fan made ending to D&D. They used scenes from all the original episodes, and stitched them together, to give fans a finale. It`s been a few years since I watched it, but as an ending, it is fan-***ing-tastic !!!

The Flumps is one of the first telly programmes I remember, I was chucked out on my three-wheeler bike all day when I hit 3-year old. Excellent shout on Huckleberry Finn, munchy.
I reckon half of these lot who created kids tv must have been a stoner or into LSD when at Uni.
