"Not sure how to open a pic, and then edit it down to size, anyone know how to do this in windows ?"
In your Windows Start Menu there`s an application called Photos, when you open it you can see the photos you have in files on your pc. To resize a photo, double click on the one you want, this will open your photo and from there you can edit the photo using the range of options at the top of the screen, on the right hand side of the options there are 3 dots - click on those to give you further editing options - including the ability to alter the file size of your photo.

As a PS to the previous post, any photos I intend to insert into a post I`ll edit down to a file size of about 1Mb. I think there`s also a possible more straightforward way of putting a photo into a post using the "Add Attachment" but never used that yet. Whenever i.ve tried to use that " add attatchment " route my computor just freezes up and i.ve checked its not down to the size of the pictures im trying to upload.

The Newlands fells look stunning in those. Got to love the Lake District when it has its winter coat on.

First outing in two months so stayed a bit low and did Great Crag from Rosthwaite walking towards Stonethwaite and descending Hazel Bank. I thought it would be a good time to do it in the snow and ice as it's usually a swamp. Loved being back out again and seen two people all day. Looking towards Eagle Crag in the centre Dock Tarn was fully frozen over but I wasn't walking on it for a tester. The paths below Great Crag were a bit icy! Skiddaw popped into view in the distance The Helvellyn range was looking inviting

Haven`t been up on the fells today, but watching a programme on BBC4, Life of a Mountain, A year on Blencathra, it`s been on TV at least once before, but I`ve always managed to miss it, but caught it this evening, what a great programme, and a great soundtrack - The Mountain by Maddisons Thread, if you like that sort of thing, anyway good watching.

I don't know if you've seen them but there are similar films about Helvellyn and Scafell Pike. All worth a look.

Ferried Terry Abraham around when he was making the Helvellyn episode. Cracking trilogy.

I'm disappointed I haven't been back out since last time but plans are afoot.

You`d need lead plated boots to stay on your feet over the last few days.

As promised I did Place Fell and Beda Fell. Weather was forecasted to be 11 mph and was at least 35 mph but at least it didn't rain. The map I was following said the route was 7.15 Miles but it turned out to be 9.26. I looked at Angletran Pikes but I wasn't sure I had the daylight left to do it so that will be left for another route. Looking over towards Glenridding from atop of Place Fell. It was actually hard to stand with the wind blowing right towards me. Looking towards Brothers Water and the Hartsops which have yet to be bagged. The Cumbrian version of Deepdale is much better to look at! A look back at my descent of Place fell towards Boredale Hause The descent of Beda Fell

That's a good walk Wukkie. Definitely also worth doing Angle Tarn on another occasion with the option of doing the round onto High Street if you've got the time.
