"Mid table budget" in Division Four next season, according to Mary Poppins. With the funding we're spunking away on executive boxes and at the Sheepmount we could turn that into a "Top table budget". That's it. Under the Piataks the football does not come first, they are the reason the club is failing. How will we attract better players with shite training facilities? We have needed to step back and sort out infrastructure etc in order to improve on the pitch, how does this not compute with you?

Loads of folk in the Paddock clapping Simpson, unbelievable, some folk set low standards if his efforts this season deserved applauding.
Appreciation for Mellish understandable, loads of effort and always gives his best. Holy enjoyed his final minutes at BP, even after his gaffs this season I'd have him ahead of Lewis.

With decent money and by providing them with a manager and coaching team they enjoy working with. It's not rocket science.

You mean like Salford? You still haven't answered the question, why we can't have both, a decent budget and stadium improvements? Curle was forever moaning the budget was kopecks and he nearly bankrupted us. Wait and see

A 'top table budget' that would last only a few seasons without significant investment off the pitch. Respectfully, this is arguably the most short-sighted thing I've read on here.

And if he has a top budget he's not going to be fool enough to advertise it

There’s potentially a chunk of money coming our way from Branthwaite at some point. Don’t let Simpson anywhere near it his forbid he’s still here.

Not many people are unsackable. What's so unique about Simpson, that he is?

11 wins in 64.
That's practically a season and half and on the way to back-to back-relegations and he's getting the chance of a re-build!
Seriously WTF!

Time to change management and backroom staff? Probably yes. Time to halt any development to non-on field stuff? Absolutely not.
Jesus with this logic then no football club would progress, ever.

It's the long sighted view. Put a successful / entertaining team on the pitch = increased attendances = additional capital to spend on ground improvements and infrastructure. As opposed to... Ignore what's happening on the pitch = decreased attendances = less funding to spend on peripherals and infrastructure. Football always comes first.

Ignore what's happening on the pitch = decreased attendances = less funding to spend on peripherals and infrastructure. Football always comes first. An increased budget does not guarantee a successful/entertaining team on the pitch. We've had increased attendances over the past couple of years, we are now spending on ground improvements and infrastructure. The training ground is all about the football. You seem to be missing that point. We've had multiple managers complaining about the state of our training facilities, and we're (hopefully) about to put that right. And, at the same time, we will be looking to strengthen the squad dramatically. Recruitment doesn't stop because a training ground is being built. However, training does stop because we simply don't have the facilities. You seem to want the club to remain in 1987.

The training ground thing is just an excuse Mary Poppins wheels out because players won't sign for him.
The real reason players keep arriving at the club and changing their mind when through the door and why staff keep jumping ship is nobody likes working with him.
Same reason Kayode called in sick and players show him no respect on the pitch or off it.

The sooner it's done, the better.
