Are you deaf Marko? "Mid-table budget" next season. That's because all the dosh is being splashed everywhere else apart from the team. another prime example of Simpsons lack of thought on media interviews, if this is true what he’s said he’s bang out of order it wasn’t the time or place to be saying we’ve only got a mid table budget for next year after yet another debacle yesterday the fans need a bit of hope , I’m sure the Piataks wouldn’t have been impressed, slate me if you want but I’m hoping we get truly embarrassed at derby and he walks

Obviously it helps, but particularly in L2 it's more about the group of players you have and how they are managed that will bring success/failure. The bigger question is not how much are we spending but who it been spent on and by whom?

Right now all I want is for us to start winning some flipping games at home again and have a team and recruitment who aren't an embarrassment.

I don’t believe him about us having a mid table budget next season.

If Simpson gets it wrong and I don't see any evidence he can turn it around, then we're going to have the best ground in the conference.

I'm quite looking forward to playing in the National league North. I've missed us playing the likes of Darlington and Scarborough etc But if anyone can turn it around by then, it's super Paul Simpson!

I don’t believe him about us having a mid table budget next season. Me neither. Not in line with all the ‘step change’ or ‘own the north’ comments from big Tom. Hopefully he will be asked about it when he goes on Radio Cumbria or by brave Sir Mullen at the forum

To those expecting Simmo to say we will have the biggest budget in the summer....grow up.

It's basic logic , when building a project you build from the foundations up. Spending money to increase revenue makes sense, I want the club to be successful for 5/10/20 years not for 1 and then to broke.

Spending loads of money on players is bit always the answer Salford a prime example. You have to be clever in getting in the right players eg Moxon he was by far out best player last season and he cuddy us peanuts. Signing any player at sky level is a gamble even for the top clubs. Piglet appears to have all the answers in his fantasy world. The excuse everyone keeps wheeling out for our abject failure this season is that we haven't been able to compete in Division Three due to our budget / lack of resources in comparison to other clubs. It's not Simpson's fault, it was the former owners not providing him with the resources required. However, the cult narrative is now changing to "spending money on players isn't the answer, signing players is a gamble, look at Salford, clever in getting the players" blah, blah. Which is it? All this season we've heard everything is down to transfer budget, now suddenly it's not all down to transfer budget? Edit: If Mary Poppins was lying about our mid-table budget next season, why does everyone take the "bottom six budget" claim to be gospel? Why would you believe one and not the other? Perhaps his tactic is to understate our budget to try and make himself look better?

For the record:
“It’s the first time as Carlisle United manager that I’ve got a budget that will probably put us mid-table rather than bottom three or four”
Bottom six has now changed to "bottom three or four".
Truth or lies?

Truth or lies? See I don’t believe him. And I certainly don’t believe for a second we had a bottom 3 or 4 budget in 05/06.

If you've got a shedload of cash to spend, you're an idiot for advertising it. Storm in a teacup.

Well said moonie, why do people think transfer fees received by any club are now mostly undisclosed it’s not rocket science
