If you've got a shedload of cash to spend, you're an idiot for advertising it. Storm in a teacup. Why mention anything? Mary Poppins offered this up freely, he wasn't asked specifically. It's not really a storm in a teacup when the budget excuse has been wheeled out consistently this season. It's already being wheeled out in advance of next season. Telling lies unprompted to the supporters is not a good look. Neither is outlining your intent to spend millions on non-football peripheral items and not concentrate resources where they are needed most (on the football field). This is indicative of the shambles the club has become since the Piataks rolled into town. "Open and honest" they claimed.

Christ on a stick. Are you going to go on like this until we storm league 2 (or Simpson gets sacked)?

Oh, get in the ******* bin, you boring ****, the season has been bad enough without having to read your prattle for another 2 months. Always right? Always talking bollocks more like. PS can people stop quoting him and then people do not have to read him, the one truly awful oversight with the block the boring **** feature.

Stick to taking LSD and tripping your nuts off playing Championship Manager '98 all night with Sully and Mike, Alf, and leave the sensible discussion to the adults on the forum.

Why does the club always sell itself short?
We have the lowest budget in the league.
Players will not come because of our location.
We cannot hope to compete financially in this division.
We had less time to build a squad because of the play-offs.
Our youth team are clart.
We do not have the training facilities that many other clubs have.
It is as if they let Morrissey handle our press releases.
They may as well just say to the fans 'we are shit and I don't know why you bother turning up'.

I have to admit I really can't see the point in disclosing what our budget will be. How on earth does he know that now anyway considering he doesn't even know which teams will be in that league yet? Definitely feels like the excuses are been made already for underachievement next season.

Yes the team is poor, we know that but for the fans sake he needed to be more up beat to at least make us think it was worthwhile turning up. Given the negativity which is coursing around the City thank God he’s not in the sales team trying to flog season tickets for division 2. At the minute we all might as well hibernate for the next 12 months. Just say i got it massively wrong this season but by Christ we’ll fix it next season and be back with a vengeance whether he believes or not. If he doesn’t believe it he shouldn’t be there anyway.

You just know we are going to struggle, or at best be bang average next season. Anyone got any evidence to the contrary?

It's really poor imo. We need hope at this time, saying that just puts a real dampener on it. We are trying to grow the club and want as many folk buying STs, shirts and whatever else over the summer, basically saying you'll be getting mediocrity next season doesn't really inspire.

If you set the bar low then anything over that you can claim as massively over-achieving like last season.
Basically covering yourself for either scenario.

Not how you run any sort of successful enterprise though is it ?? Instead of celebrating promotion the club sold it as if we had been punished, no time to get players, lowest budget in the league etc. Relegation was a self-fulfilling prophecy.
