glasshalffullphoenix has just texted in to remind people that we’ve just achieved our highest league finish in a decade. Good effort, but untrue. We finished higher in 13/14. (Season finished May 3rd)

And this season has seen our highest league finish in the decade that has passed since then A decade has not passed since then. Just put this to glasshalffullphoenix and he says it has in football terms. Football is in season not years. So 10 seasons is a decade. Make of that what you will.

A decade has not passed since then. Just put this to glasshalffullphoenix and he says it has in football terms. Football is in season not years. So 10 seasons is a decade. Make of that what you will. That's the not the definition of a decade. The fact is it is not our highest finish in a decade. There is zero argument. It is a fact, not open to interpretation. If they meant something else, they should've said it.

I also asked him if he wanted to edit his statement to “best part of a decade” and his was response was No, it’s a decade. Everyone knows 10 seasons is a decade in football.

Glasshalffullphoenix says that you are being pedantic, and that it would have been pointless saying "our best finish in one week short of a decade".

Didn't understand what Lummy meant earlier when he said that we went up too early. You would take promotion rather than not surely? I wouldn't fancy say three years in the bottom league 'preparing' to go up as it would be three fruitless seasons with no guarantee going up on the fourth. It’s a ridiculous cliche tbh. Nobody turns down a promotion. More bull shit to protect Simpson. Why has he not outed him for the joke of a transfer window in January? Why has he not outed him for the non football this season, 30 losses etc etc etc Joke that he’s not critical of an absolute shambles and embarrassment of a season in management Nobody’s insinuating that you turn down promotion when the opportunity arises, but teams over the years have been ill-equipped to cope in the league above. A year or two more in the league below to strengthen your squad before going up would sometimes have served clubs better. But like you say, how do you turn down or scupper promotion because it’s too early?

Facts are not "pessimistic", they are facts.

According to the commentators on SKY, Warne gives the players a day off training if they score from a set piece. Including today's they'll have had over 20 additional days off.
We need to make our lot do additional training every time they waste a set piece. That'll keep the buggers out of Botchetgate.

On a more positive note, I've been chatting to a few Derby fans tonight who were all very complimentary about the Blue Army. They were impressed with the numbers who came down and of the noise we made. I've no problem with Derby County. A proper football city and proper supporters. Good luck to them next year.

Our supporters have put the team to shame this season. Outstanding
